I word this from 9am, eating, drinking, smoking, took a shower (avoiding washing but still it got wet), slept 8 hours, woke up with lipstick on. The minute i used a makeup wipe on it, it came off. The pic below is after all that. A little rough but thats 24 hours of wear with no touch up. I work from home which allowed me to test it. Going to Vegas with masks and needed something that wouldn't smudge under the masks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some mature women might have been hesitant to choose this vibrant color to test (Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor, 520 Neverending Purple, 0.07 oz), but I just LOVE purple and know older ladies can use bright, bright pinks and corals to great effect, so I thought, "Why not purple, too?" and I'm glad I did!

I don't care that I've been wearing makeup for decades now. I never get tired of playing with it and I feel it gives me a pulled-together look and a look that says I care about my appearance. In fact, I was able to be a receptionist for a billion-dollar company even in my late fifties. The makeup helped me look "polished."

I think a mistake women make is to be scared to use bright colors if they are older, if their skin isn't "perfect," and if they feel their features aren't "perfect." Hogwash! Brights look GOOD on ANYONE, it turns out! Not only do the COLORS look good, the CONFIDENCE shown is appealing, too! I no longer ask myself, "Oh, what will people think?" when choosing makeup and clothes. I ask myself, "Do YOU like this?" instead! Life's too short, people!

Well, I'm talking a big talk, but I did apply the color lightly, just a dot on each side of the bow of the lip, then spread it out with my pinkie to corners for the top (put a dot, pull to side, put the other dot, pull to side), and a bigger dot on the bottom lip and pulled to each side with the pinkie. It gave a wonderful pop of color without emphasizing the lines around my lips. If you are young or don't have the lines yet, use the precise foam brush to fill in the lip with color, instead of spreading a small amount out with your pinkie. On my daughter-in-law, the solid, intense color looks fantastic. 

When applied lightly, this color is a vibrant pink with purple tone. When applied solidly, it looks more purple, but not a blue-based purple. It's a red-based, meaning it is more in the pink family.

The name is truthful: Color-STAY. Yes, it stays and stays. I don't even retouch during the day.

Have you seen Lipsense's Violet Reign? This reminds me of it, color-wise. Lipsense is all the rage, but I don't like it. I like, frankly, the Revlon and the Maybelline long-lasting (and 24-hour) lip colors. The Revlon Colorstay I especially like: It doesn't dry my lips, it's reasonable in price, and it lasts longer on me. I can layer it and pull it with my pinkie and it covers beautifully. It isn't patchy when I do this. BIG positive.

I don't use the gloss end of the lipstick (it comes with the foam tilted coloring-in brush on one end, and a pointed brush-like tip for the gloss on the other) because I like a matte lip with bright colors. For a pinky-brown lip, yes, I'd use the gloss overlay. But for me, I like matte brights.

Purple for Mature Lips? YES!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always liked lip color applied with a brush; it seems to me that I have more control over how much I put on, how thick it is and if I get it exactly where I want it--lip sticks don't always go on just right so I blot off some of it. This is a lip color on one end of the wand, and a clear gloss at the other end--both applied with a brush. The color is applied to dry, bare lips, you wait while it dries, then the clear gloss goes over. I cannot guarantee that it lasts 16 hours because I haven't timed it, but it does last longer than a lot of lipsticks I've used. It keeps my lips moist, slightly glossy looking, and I've already decided to try some other colors. I have Neverending Purple at the moment; it looks a lot darker than it really is. I really like it, although purple/fuschia/lavender isn't always my first choice. It comes in a wide range of shades, pink, spice, coral, reds, tan, brown--dark and light shades. It may not last as long as a regular-sized tube of lipstick, but I honestly don't care. This is one product I've tested that I definitely will continue to use and recommend.

I am also in the market to purchase other colors from Revlon. You can never get tired of acquiring many of these colors in your make up kit. It is also easy to package for traveling. 16 hour, it's!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Revlon is not kidding when it says Colorstay!!! This pretty medium purple orchid lipcolor with a glossy topcoat fixative stays on through eating and drinking, and I even tested it overnight on my hand. The shiny topcoat does wear off, but it takes awhile; and the color stays with minor wear closest to inside of lips where you eat and drink. Color is not very drying to lips, and glossy topcoat is SO shiny and plush feeling! This is a beautiful, tropical orchid purple; and the wand is a nice size for a small evening or cosmetic bag. I love not having to constantly retouch my lips all day. Put color evenly on dry lips first and let it dry, then slick on the yummy topcoat and you are ready to work all day or dance all night without worrying about your lipstick. No unsightly color transfer to wine glasses or clothing. This lipcolor really does work overtime!!!

Gorgeous Long Wear Purple Orchid Lipcolor!

Long lasting lipstick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this shade, its a really nice bright purple. I felt this shade went on smoother than the darker cherry shade. Went on smooth and has a matte finish, with a dry to the touch feel. It also has a tacky texture if you put your lips together they will stick.
I found this shade doesn't have a dry feeling, compared to the darker shade. Its a very comfortable wear. 
It doesn't transfer to drinks and cups. I really liked that. You do lose a little bit in the middle of your mouth when you eat, but that's to be expected of most liquid lipsticks. I found if you wear it with out the top coat it lasts longer.
The clear top coat did not dry on my lips. Even after I dabbed most of it off to give it a glossy look. If you have the clear top coat on, it makes it so you leave gloss on everything you touch and it also rubs off the shade with it.
Its a very durable formula that last all day, and it's a bit of a pain to rub off. You need an oil based cleanser or makeup wipe to remove it.

Bright color, long wear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Neverending Purple color of the Revlon Colorstay Overtime lip gloss because I wanted to try a color I don't normally wear. It has little to no odor when I smell the wand straight out of the barrel. On my lips, it has no odor or taste. Based on the instructions you apply the lip color, wait until it dries, then apply the clear lip top coat. When it dries it seems to brighten in color and has a matte appearance. The gloss and moisture comes from the top coat. 
The box says that it can last for 16 hours with no touch-ups needed. I applied mine early in the morning, and by 6pm after having eaten meals and snacks, drank water, talked, licked my lips here and there I found that it in fact DID stay on but not as strongly. It was a very bright purple upon first application. By the end of the day it was brought down to a slight dull purple. But, that was with no touch-ups. That is quite impressive. 
I suppose if I were at work and were to refresh it after lunch, it would continue being a vibrant lip color. By the way, by mid-day for me, it was still very bright and present so I didn't feel the need to refresh it. 
I could have re-applied the top coat to see if that would re-brighten the lip color that remained on my lips at the end of the day, but I was just still impressed that the color was still there and noticeable. Again, not as bright and rich, but still there. I am a dark-brown skinned woman, so if it was noticeable on me, I'm sure it would be noticeable on someone of lighter skin and lip complexion.

It Actually Stays On All Day!

Revlon changed the formula. It used to go on smooth with rich color. Now it goes on uneven and I end up having to rub my lips together quickly and blot it. I've contacted them asking them about this a while ago but I didn't get a response just some coupons.
