This product is amazing. I have always used a jet pack from Verizon but this is actually very comparable as far as price and speed. I can take it in my car for my kiddo to pay on his tablet and for my laptop anywhere. I also purchased the subscription plan of 49.99 a month! Love the camera feature as well. Recommend 10/10

Skyroam Solis X

This is my second Skyroam and oddly enough the one I've been using for the last couple weeks while in the city of LA versus traveling around the world. I've had it with me as a power bank (because my phone is always dying) and for the days on location when my cell service is horrible and I don't have wifi access. As a traveler I've used Skyroam abroad when wifi wasn't as great as hotels or airbnb's guarantee and it's saved the day. I highly recommend this for yourself or as a gift for anyway. No tech savviness necessary.

You don't need to be a traveler to use this

As a writer, I rely on WiFi when traveling from maps and hotel reviews to email and editing, and instead of chasing down a signal, I bring the Skyroam Solis X.  It offers coverage in over 130 countries and connects up to 10 devices at a time! It's also a power bank, remote camera and smart assistant and has 4G LTE WiFi for as little as $6 (crazy cheap!).  I have a few friends that also use their local data plans.  Skyroam is PERFECT for travelers, content creators and anyone who works remotely!

BEST WiFi Smartspot!

The Skyroam Solis X is my absolute favorite international travel item! Having WiFi access while navigating new cities is essential. You can link up to 10 devices so your friends and travel companions are covered too. It's also perfect for moments I need to get work done, upload photos, communicate with loved ones, and all of the other many reasons when there's a need to connect. We don't leave home without it.

Miracle!!!

I use this device locally in the US as an off grid WiFi source in rural California. After experiencing increasing troubleshooting issues after a year of using Skyroam's previous model the Solis I figured it was about time to upgrade and after reading reviews I was skeptical. Skyroam offered the device in exchange for a post about my experience so I figure I'd give it a go.
To my relief I am once again so pleased with Skyroam and their service. This device performs above and beyond my expectations and I certainly see myself as a long term Skyroam customer. Customer service is always available and have fixed any issues I've had in a reasonable time frame.
The connectivity with the Solis X has been flawless and I've been able to work, homeschool and stream all day without issue. If you're skeptical I really encourage to experience the device for yourself.

What's better than WiFi in your pocket!?

I'm a cameraman and I used this to stay connected while I was on a month-long job in Oman. My expectations were low because not only is Oman a pretty remote country, but we were also scheduled to shoot pretty far away from any metropolitan center. 

That being said, the Solis outperformed anything I could have expected. My two associates and I split the cost of 20 daypaysses and all connected to it during the day. They were both planning on spending $10/day on Verizon's roaming plan so this was much more efficient for them. It allowed all of us to connect with the folks back home and schedule jobs for our return, which we were all very thankful for.

Furthermore, our shooting days are typically 12 work hours per day (not including the 45-90 minute transit time to our locations). The Solis battery lasted long enough to get me out the door at the hotel in the morning and back back to my room in the evening. This was no small feat considering we were working in +90 degree heat every day and it mainly resided in my pocket. 

My only complaint for my trip to Oman was that aquiring a connection was often spotty. I do think that this was due to the remoteness of our locations though and the lack of an adequate signal in the country. I have since used it in Hawaii and had no issues whatsoever.

The app is fairly easy to use and the UI is straightforward and intuitive. 

I used the camera very infrequently so I can't attest to its quality or ease of use, but as a personal hotspot it performed very well.

A great travel companion

It worked for one day and was fabulous; but the next day, it would not cooperate so I returned it!

Mixed Review

Bought to stream classes from home during coronavirus containment. Thoroughly checked the website to ensure that there was an unlimited data plan with no cap. Used it the first day to find out that 4G speeds are slowed to 3G or less after anywhere from 500 MB-2 GB of use "depending on the carrier" they're getting signal from. I had to call the help center to find this out, as it's stated nowhere on the website. I can't stream classes on 3G speeds, and now have paid a nonrefundable $99 for a deceptive "unlimited" 4G data plan.

DECEPTIVE: DO NOT BUY REGULAR USE

This is no more than just a portable hotspot. This product is not a good substitute for families that move around a lot. My wife and I spend no more than 5-6 months at each home we live in so we don't like to bind ourselves to any contracts
