I have the regular SPEEDCROSS 4 and wanted the GTX version for those wet days and wet trails. I found that the GTX version was a different fit with the added GTX layer. This caused the lacing to loosen more often and overall I would have rather had wet feet.

I've had 3 pairs of these shoes and they are great!!  My first pair I bought the day before the 50k stump jump and never looked back. My last 2 pair was the goretex material and are great on the wet trails although warm on a summer fun here in no — I run the sense pro 2 for the roads and enjoy them too

Speed cross

I love these shoes! Great quality and waterproof! My son also wears them for shooting competitions and has had several pairs (due to foot growth) and they all have heals up well!

They fit great and feel great it's just the sole keeps peeling back more every time i wear them? I've only worn them 2 times and the glue that holds the sole on keeps coming off, I've tried to reflux but I think I need a diff glue, the company should send me a new pair if they want to keep me as a customer, it's too bad I love the feel and look

Quality???

Let me start off by saying I love Salomon products, I have a number of there boots and have always been satisfied. But these trail shoes fit me terribly. I ordered it in the normal size I wear but these shoes wear terrible with my second toe. They seem to be tight on that toe. Not sure why.

Trail Shoes

They stopped my knee and back pain. We have twenty pairs at our house including kids.

In tire family has Solomon shoes

I love this shoe that I use for winter running in the most extreme conditions in Montreal, CANADA.
The Goretex is very efficient to keep feet dry and warm.
I have two issues with this shoe:
1- toebox to narrow and stiff. that made me have black nails all the time.
2- Lacing system: easy to use and to keep off on trails but...doesn't keep the foot in place in the shoe. my feet were sliding front and back in the shoe depending on the terrain I was running on. There is no way to correct that with this lacing system.

Use them in mild off road terrain. No problem with rain, mud, chilly weather. I dare to say that this goretex implementation is more efficient than the one in Salomon's Hiking shoe.

200 miles in , just like brand new, no cracks, no broken seams, the do not miss a beat. I wear them in the winter and with just a pair of simple low socks and my feet are warm enough even in ~0 deg. centigrade. So, I would say, more efficient in staying dry and warm and slightly less in breathability.

A lot of complains about size, yes, they run narrow. I tried them and I bought half a size up. I own 6 different Salomon shoes, 46 2/3 is my size, I got them in 47 1/3 and they feel just fine.

200 miles in

These shoes have become my only companion for all my run. With goretex, contragrip and quick lace, Salomon has ensured its constructed perfect for the trails and nothing in it is a hindering your run. I can confidently run over snow and water puddles and wet and dry leaf piles,

Nice water protection but not comfortable.  The strings to ighten are a hassle and fall out aimlessly
