I wore these shoes on my 166 miles walk on the Camino de Santiago. They are lightweight and well ventilated with excellent arch support for a long hike. Gore-Tex kept my feet dry while I hiked through drizzling rain. I absolutely loved them because I did not get a single blister !

I got these a while back and have been using them for work, im a postwoman by the way. These are the first walking boots ive tried that are comfy and dont rub on my heel and hard wearing! I cant recommened enough, ive been walking in them 6 days a week since around Oct/Nov (today is 29th Jan) and the soles have hardly worn and they are still in shape and not rubbing (big problem for me with walking boots) 
My only complaint is the laces, buy your own, these are useless. They are like a shiny material and i have to tie them up again around 5 times a day cause they just come loose. Oh and they are totally waterproof, trust me im a Postie :) lol

I bought these last summer and wore them on a 9 day rocky backpacking trip in October with endless river crossings and indistinct trail that the guidebook rated as "strenuous".   I really liked the ankle support and toe coverage while stream crossing and while hiking through brush. They held up well-- the bottom rubber/grip area looks hardly worn at all--and I will be wearing them for another backpack this month. No blisters or hot areas anywhere.  No falls. Yes, the laces are annoying by coming loose, but I doubled/tripled the knot and they worked without an issue.  When these puppies wear out, I'll buy another pair.

Held up on rocky river crossings on backpack trip

I bought a pair 2 summers ago and really liked that they were lightweight with grippy soles but not too stiff.  When we decided to hike the John Muir Trail last summer, after some exploratory hikes in them, I decided they were my go-to boot for the 200+ mile hike.  This is the first boot that I have not felt the need to size up from my normal 7.5m.  Also, I didn't even replace the insoles, which I have always done.  I only did about 20 miles of training in the new pair I bought for the through hike and they were awesome.  I like that the upper is supportive but not too stiff.  Same with the sole – lots of rock walking can really hurt with stiffer soles.  I didn't really immerse them in water much but didn't have any issue with water-proofing.  Can't say my feet weren't sore at the end of the day - after 13-15 miles a day for 18 days that's pretty much a given.  We saw quite a few people on the trail sporting these or the tenny version so we were in good company on the JMT.

A through-hike trooper!

I've had this shoe for a couple of months now. I love everything about this boot. Everything except those darn hooks! They stick out so far, that the tied shoelace loop of the other shoe often catches onto the hook. I've almost eaten dirt several times. I wish they would change that. I now tie my laces several times to create very small loops so that they don't get caught. So far so good. My husband has the same complaint about his. Otherwise the shoe is spacious in the toe box and has great support and a nice arch.

Love it. But those hooks...

I've had these boots for a year now. They took a bit to break in but now they are very comfy. We can hike all day, and while my 54 year old feet still get tired, they don't hurt. No issues it's waterproofing, and we hike in rain, snow, and through water at times.

I bought these boots a year ago for hiking in Peru and they were great for the climbs involved over those three days. However, they have let me down on the West Highland Way. This was the first time they have been worn in the rain and within 20 minutes, my feet were soaked through the toe. I would expect to need to re-waterproof them after a bit, but not this soon. As well, they are not very forgiving on rocky/cobbled terrain.

Lightweight but Not waterproof.

I was bought these boots in Feb as a birthday present. They haven't had a huge amount of wear. I wore them out on saturday. Walked through wet fields, it wasn't raining and they let water in only at my toes. Socks were soaked at the end. So disappointing. Original retail incredibly unhelpful and have apparently sent to yourself to be tested. I am now without a pair of boots for a month despite clearly being faulty. Ridiculous and very disappointed!

Have owned multiple Salomon boots and loved every pair. These boots are the absolute WORST. So much foot pain- I could barely hike after a mile.  The redesign on these boots is TERRIBLE- never had issues with the Ultra 2! PLEASE bring back the Ultra 2 boots! Salomon you're loosing loyal customers from making “redesigns” i.e. less quality products!

The ankle support is way too rigid and unforgiving. I've hiked for over 40 years in a combination of boots and trail runner/sneakers and never experienced anything as painful as these boots.  As a fan of Solomon I was excited to try these for a 50 mile 3 day trek.  I tested them on 2 mountain hikes of 11 and 12 miles with no noted issues (although in hindsight, I may have experienced some ankle agitation build up).  About 4 miles into hiking, the outer side of leg just above ankles began hurting.  It go so bad after 6 miles that I abandoned the boots and chose to hike 26 miles in Crocs vs. the boots. After a week later, my ankles are still incredibly tender (and blisters from the Crocs healed).   

I back up the other reviews in that I did not have any blisters, but the ankle knife like pain is causing me to return and exchange for others.

On a side note - I have the same shoes in 'low rise' and love them!
