Samsung S26 Ultra 512GB (Cobalt Violet)

I purchased this phone as a gift to replace my husband's old phone. He loves his new phone; it was easy to transfer data from his old one. The instructions for the setting were easy to understand.  It comes with many easy-to-use features. Nice-sized screen, making it easy on the eyes to view articles online.

Keeping It Real

phone seems to be amazing this far. i did jist activated it fridqy. 


  However, my issues is axrually about Fedex/ups. 
       It clearly said have to sign dor package. cool i make sure im here , well they never made me aign,   Nor was i present. 
            And i feel ita importamt to address this issue. i will also be calling walmart to complain about this matter.

     Because,  lets face it. there is alot of shady people in this world and had i been one of them i could of lied and said i never received it.  all because i disnt sign.  however i wouldnt do that but others might try. 
so for future references,  So unless you wanna keep loosing money . fet it together walmart,ups and fedex and if it says signature required.  make sure yall get one. BECAUSE  1,500 Tax is a decent chunk of change to loose on carelessness  from failure to comply with a request such as signature. 

other then that its AMAZIMG and btw i have the pretty blue one and its 512 fb internal memory

This is the 2nd unlocked samsung phone I have bought through Walmart. No body could touch the price.

Unlocked S26 Ultra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my Galaxy S26 Ultra primarily for work — drafting documents, reviewing PDFs, coordinating with clients, and managing projects on the go. The S Pen has been the standout feature. Marking up contracts and reviewing files directly on the screen has cut down the back-and-forth I used to need with my laptop. Handwritten notes convert cleanly, and the latency feels essentially zero.
The display is excellent for long reading sessions. Whether I am working through dense documents or proofing website copy, text stays sharp and the anti-glare finish actually holds up outdoors. Battery life comfortably gets me through a full day of heavy use, which matters when I am bouncing between meetings, calls, and travel.

Performance has been smooth across everything I throw at it — split-screen multitasking with email and a PDF reader, video calls, photo editing, and the occasional gaming break in the evening. The cameras are a noticeable step up, especially in low light, which has been useful for documentation work where lighting is unpredictable.

A few smaller things I appreciate: the in-display fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable, the haptics feel premium, and the build quality is reassuring given how often this phone ends up tossed into a bag or pocket.
After several weeks of daily use, this device has genuinely changed how mobile my workflow can be. It is the first phone that has let me leave the laptop behind for short trips without compromise.

S Pen and battery transformed my workflow

While the design hasn't undergone a radical transformation, the refinements make a surprising difference in daily use. It's a bit thinner and lighter than its predecessors, and the move back to a slightly more rounded aluminum frame makes it significantly more comfortable to hold during long sessions.

The real star of the show this year is the integrated Galaxy AI. It feels less like a collection of party tricks and more like a cohesive operating system upgrade. Features like Now Nudge—which proactively suggests actions based on your screen context—and the new Privacy Display mode (which uses AI to narrow viewing angles when you're in public) are genuinely practical.

Productivity Powerhouse

What distinguishes a device in the Ultra category is its ability to deliver high-end performance without compromise. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra sets a high benchmark within the current smartphone landscape. While opinions vary on what constitutes a genuine feature vs a novelty, this ongoing debate helps define the broader discourse surrounding the device. While not every function may be utilized in every situation, the principle of "better to have and need it, than need and not have it" remains relevant. Few phones match the S26 Ultra's unique position. The list of phones that allow you to both take notes accurately and easily as well as be able to leveradge a full desktop experience is very small. While the product is undoubtedly impressive, it operates within a highly competitive market where other manufacturers are advancing rapidly—particularly in areas such as battery performance, driven by innovations in next-generation silicon and carbon-based technologies. Samsung maintains its edge in the premium smartphone segment through its Ultra series, leveraging cutting-edge advancements in display technology. Its privacy display feature is an innovation unmatched. Regarding Galaxy AI features, it straddles the line between feature and gimmick. So long as you remain in the driver's seat, it can occasionally prove its worth.

The Cost of being the Best

I've been overall very satisfied with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The phone feels premium, fast, and polished in almost every aspect. The AI features are honestly some of the best I've used on a smartphone so far. They are practical, intelligent, and actually improve the daily experience instead of feeling like gimmicks. Samsung clearly put a lot of effort into integrating AI in a useful way.
The camera system is also excellent. Photos look sharp, vibrant, and detailed in almost every lighting condition. Video quality is impressive as well, and overall this is one of the best camera experiences I've had on a phone.
Another feature I really appreciate is the new privacy display function. It adds an extra layer of comfort when using the phone in public and feels like a smart addition for everyday privacy.
However, despite all the positives, I'm extremely disappointed with Samsung's decision to remove Bluetooth functionality from the S Pen. One of the features I used the most was taking photos remotely with the pen. It was incredibly convenient for group photos, tripod shots, content creation, and simply avoiding touching the phone during pictures.
For a device at this price point, I expected improvements across the board, not the removal of genuinely useful features. The S Pen was one of the defining characteristics of the Ultra series, and removing core functionality from it feels like a downgrade rather than progress.
The phone is still amazing overall, but this particular change genuinely hurt the experience for me.

SPen

I 'upgraded' from the S24 Ultra, and I actually would prefer to have the S24 back.  This phone is not as strong - you can literally get the body to twist in your hands.  The S24 body was much stronger, but you still have to pay the same price for a phone that is not as strong.

The battery life seems to be about the same - no improvement over the S24.

I personally am not seeing any difference in the cameras.  The S26 Ultra might be a little sharper, but not a lot.

Samsung's decision to drop Samsung Messages has left us with the garbage known as Google Messages.  Google just doesn't get it.  They are HORRIBLE at interface design.  We FINALLY got a trash can, but it is inferior to the Samsung version.  You can only move an ENTIRE conversation into the trash.  If you only want to delete part of a conversation, then it is permanently deleted - no retrieving it from the trash if you happen to need it.  Then when you do delete part of a conversation, there are multiple lines in the app that say "RCS chat with (contact)"  followed by the date and time of that message.  So STUPID.  Google's design team needs to start paying attention to how other companies do it and correct their massive mistakes.

Qi wireless charging is also not as consistent on the S26.  Due to the MASSIVE camera array, it makes it more difficult to get the phone into the correct position on the charging pad.

As for the display, the S24 just looks better with the sharp corners.  The rounded corners on the S26 do not add anything to the experience at all.  Both display have the same resolution and brightness, so unless you NEED the privacy feature, it is not an upgrade.  

The speed of the S26 is up a little bit from the S24, but it is not that much faster.  Booting up is where I see the most improvement, but other than that, the S24 performs just fine.

Overall I am not that impressed. The only plus is that I got enough in trade for my S24 that I paid less than half price for this one.  I think that these manufacturers need to stop feeling the need to release new phones EVERY SINGLE year, and start focusing on making ACTUAL improvements.  No one needs a new phone every year - it is just beyond wasteful.

Not as great as the hype...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Phone transfer was not smooth. Had to attempt twice. Once completed,  it was still missing several apps
 Home screen did not populate from my last phone and had to manually add my apps. Then phone seems to freeze often. Annoying and unwanted search bar  defaults to yahoo.com and cannot be disabled and cannot figure out to switch it to Google. Pages take longer to load and sometimes do not load at all. I've had to reboot several times in less than a week.
Samsung please help!!

Not what I expected

I despise the 8.5 UI. The camera is significantly worse than the previous generation, with most of its options hidden to 'declutter'. I genuinely get better pictures taking screenshots of the camera than using the shutter button. The display is dimmer, and while the novely of the privacy screen button is nice and I do use it, Im not sure its worth the trade off of every time a light bounces off of it, I see every pixel in ful rainbow instead of my screen, with the privacy on Or off. Everything begs you to use AI on the phone. I do not want AI. I will never. Want. AI. I get apps downloaded without permission. I get ads for AI On My Phone Fron My Phone. Samsung forcing us to use google messages has destroyed the ability to search past topics, customize, etc. They're building everything for the illiterate, the boomers through genx, people who refuse to learn, toddlers and 10 year olds. And they somehow. For some reason. Made it so you can put the stylus in upside-down. Which can cause it to break. So that easy, useful motion to be able to slide it in is now as frustrating and annoying as trying to plug in a USBA on the first try. I hate this phone.
