I purchased two of these easy-to-assemble bookcases for a library of 500 hardback books of various size and weight. It was a wise choice. These bookcases have completely transformed my living space, adding the warmth and feel of a cottage library to my studio apartment.

The value here is hard to imagine and impossible to beat at this price. My highest recommendation!

After seeing many reviews on here about this bookcase, I decided to get it and I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase.  I use for textbooks and school supplies since I homeschool my son. I needed a large bookcase to house his stuff in and he likes it too. The tabs are perfect. I am going to order 2 more soon for my own books.

Love it!

Was pleasantly surprised by this piece. It looks great and for the price you can't beat it!!  Bought this for kid books in an upstairs sitting area. We have a historic home and this goes perfect with it. Going to order a couple more for my downstairs office. Also, I put this together myself in less than 2 hours.

Love this piece!!

Great quality and look for the price! While assembly does take awhile (there are a lot of pieces), the instructions were clear and easy to understand, and the cam-based assembly made it very doable. The "scribed oak" look is pretty convincing, too -- I've had people ask me if it's real wood! I've also found that getting baskets for the bottom shelves makes it super functional -- book storage on top, with random junk corralled in the baskets. Overall, couldn't be much happier!

Fantastic look at a reasonable price

I bought a set of these book cases. I needed one for my living room and one for our home school classroom. Contrary to what some reviewers have posted these book cases are not junk. I am 74 years old and I put both book cases together in about 3 1/2 hours and they exceeded my expectations. Not difficult at all to put together. My book cases are not only beautiful but they are very sturdy. I needed to be able to store large binders in the one I have in our classroom because I homeschool 2 of my grandchildren and one is in high school. We have a lot of heavy books. No sagging at all and they hold a lot. When I first ordered them I was afraid the finish would be a little too rustic and distressed but I am very happy. My husband even loves them and he has never been one to like distressed furniture. About 46 inches tall and 53 inches wide. My book cases are designed beautifully. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again. I have gotten so many compliments on them.  For the price I paid I got a very good deal. I bought them from Walmart because I could get 2 for almost the price other places were charging for one book case. Free shipping means a lot too when you are retired and on a budget. I highly recommend. This was my honest opinion of my book cases and I hope it helps.

Very good value

first of all, my package arrived soaking wet, and one corner was completely warped. but that was fedex fault i guess.

but considering this piece is made of particle board, it's very nice and pleasing to the eye. i kinda love it, and i'm a snob. it's like a pottery barn knockoff.

it took 7 hours to put together. it was always impossible not to hammer a nail in the wrong place and chip the veneer.

beautiful piece but made of cheap wood

After yet another move, this move I was going to treat myself to some new bookcases. I have about 500 books and the ones I've had over the past ten years were just too worn. Fortunately (?) the movers wrecked my old bookshelves on this latest move and spurred my decision to go shopping. I wanted cute and functional. I believe I originally found these on Wayfair, did a Google Shop search and found the best price to be WalMart. My surprise wasn't that WM at the best price-- it was that WM would carry such a sharp looking piece of furniture. There bookshelves in-store were BORING (I looked)! Well, a click, a ship, and about three hours of assembly and I had the shelve in place. The directions were mostly okay. There were certainly spots they could have added a couple or few more words to help clarify their meaning, but I continued on. The only portion I had to undo, then re-do my work was in placing the card holders onto the faces-- the instructions do not mention how to orient the card holders and I managed to install some upside down, but didn't realize my mistake until I had the whole thing put together. Not a hard fix, but it was irksome.

I ordered this one and two of the tall versions. Love 'em!

My treat to myself

It's a beautiful piece of furniture and functional. I didn't nail on the back panel, so the bookcase is slightly wobbly. It was just my personal preference not to add it for aesthetic purposes. Also, the instructions are missing a couple of few steps. So, if you are not accustomed to putting furniture together, then you may want to have someone check your work before you

Took 2 of us over 5 hours to assemble 2 bookcases. Finished product looks really good and feels sturdy, but assembly was quite daunting. Laminate finish looks better then I expected. Overall, very pleased with purchase (after I got over putting it together).

We went to put it together and we were missing two pieces. I called the company and they no longer make this shelf. It's been discontinued so I wasn't able to get the parts.

Very wobbly, screws strip out easily because it's just particle board and not solid wood.  We took the matching desk back because we didn't want to bother building it
