Bookcase came packed efficiently (if heavy, though I knew it was over 50 pounds). Every piece was undamaged and labeled. I ordered two and got them put together easily and quickly.
Only four cam and dowel assemblies. The rest of the connections were with decent screws, which I appreciate. Cam and dowel too easily loosen up or break out of the manufactured wood. 
I have many pieces of "assembly required" furniture like this, and I've learned to use wood glue at the joints along with the screws/cam

Just bought a house so I am buying all kinds of furniture from everywhere... Granted, this is not the most expensive bookshelf out there, but in this day and age when everything is manufactured wood, this bookshelf is well constructed. It is the first product I've bought where I can obviously see that thought, creativity, concern for customer,  concern for reputation, and just plain wanting to make a good product shines through. I was even impressed with the fantastic way it was packaged! In the future, I will always look to see if this company has what I'm shopping for before I go anywhere else. I am ever so impressed with company, product, packaging, and shipping. Their pride in what they do is just not seen very much these days, and it stands out. DID i SAY THE BOOKSHELF WAS MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THEN MANY OTHERS i RESEARCHED THAT WERE OBVIOUSLY POOR DESIGN OR JUST PLAIN eh?  I am ever so happy to find this manufacturer and can not give them enough credit. They seem to really take pride in what they do. THANK YOU FOR THAT! The world needs more businesses with that ethic.

CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT PRODUCT/MANUFACTURER

I use the bookcases for storing pantry items and all kinds of odds and ends from around the house.
I already purchased 
The width, depth and height are just right for my uses. The adjustable shelves (3 of 4) make for the best use of space for larger and smaller items. I already purchased 4 bookcases a couple years ago and now ordered 2 more, grateful the same style and color were still available.

This is the 4th Sauder bookcase I have bought in 12 years and I don't think I would buy any other kind. Pretty easy to assemble (I'm 72 and did it). Looks so nice and holds all my many books (I used to work in a bookstore so I have a lot).  Fits in my apartment and they look especially nice with two or more next to one another. Delivery was very prompt. Would highly recommend.

I love these bookcases!

I buy Sauder products because they are well built, easy to assemble and durable. I still have Sauder furniture I bought in 2000 and they are still sturdy with no issues them. Drawers still open and close perfectly and nothing fell apart. after all these years. I highly recommended Sauder.

Well Built Easy Assembly

I have had very good repour with Sauder products. This the second 5 shelf I have bought. I do have other Sauder's bookcases. Their instructions are very easy to read and follow. After I have put them together, they are very tough (for lack of better words). Thank You Sauder.

I would and have bought this product again.

I love this bookcase. It is a challenge however when constructing. I am an older, single woman, with no real help in my area. Fortunately I have had a lot of experience with putting together, furniture. All of the screws etc, matched up well however I did not tack into the backing as I should. I do wish there had been one more shelf to use it for smaller items. I will work it out and may have one made then paint whatever.

One bedroom room in my house is dedicated for my AV production studio/office/library. Wasn't too particular about aesthetics as they may be covered with a curtain for some sound absorption. All boards need to be laminated on ALL SIDES as a simple mistake in assembly by the user can have unforgiving consequences. One of my shelf layers has a non laminated side exposed and you have to pry off the nailed LAMINATED CARDBOARD back (Note: several tiny nails) just to turn the middle support board around. So in order to preserve structural integrity I left it as is. I would rather pay extra for easier assembly and higher quality stability hardware. Sauder made better shelves back in the 1980's and early 90's of which I bought 7. Assembly was more intuitive with higher quality hardware. Wish this product came with an extra shelf layer (board labeled F) and respective support hardware. Bottom shelf capacity - 40lbs, Middle shelf - 30lbs, other shelves - 25lbs, top shelf - maybe 5lbs (Sauder recommends no weight). I'm disappointed as the bookshelves I bought from Sauder in the 1990's hold much more weight. None of the boards are hardwood so if you want a bookshelf that supports a lot of heavy books then you need to build/purchase an all hardwood bookshelf.

It is flimsy and there is no indentation for the shelf pegs to keep the shelf in place. They can easily slide out as you are taking something off the shelf. I wanted to return the item but when I read the return instructions it said that I would have to pay the return shipping PLUS the original shipping! That would have cost more than the shelf did in the first place. From now on I buy something like this only if I can see it in the store. It was supposed to be a 71"" tall 5-shelf bookcase. What I got was 2 short bookcases that had to be put together. I could have stacked a couple bookcases I already have and would have had a sturdier bookcase!

It was a piece of junk. Assembly directions were clear but . . . holes did always line up, pegs between pieces broke out, top and bottom were out of alignment and wouldn't stay upright, bookcase collapsed. I ended up throwing away the bottom, using both backings on top part tacking brads every 2 inches. This was definitely not what I wanted.
