I wasn't expecting a lot, and I got more or less what I expected. It came packaged well and undamaged, with all the parts required. That was good. And the instructions were excellent (all written in English and not some poorly translated version) with legible and clear diagrams.

The "wood" is not wood--it's press board or whatever they call that stuff. The entire thing is heavy, but that is not a bad thing. It's about as attractive as fake wood can be.

The hinges are good quality with excellent adjustment options. The back is cardboard.

The design is fine, but I modified it, putting the pull out shelf at the bottom of the section designed for rather than the top. This had two advantages, in my opinion: (1) The space below the shelf seems like a waste, since it is too small and too deep to hold much. This way I can put my electronics on the tray and slide it in when I am not using them, keeping them there when charging. (2) It keeps the cams for the top available for access (otherwise they are blocked by the slider bar for the shelf.) In that way I was able to put the top on last, and can now remove it as needed. Later I plan to remove it and modify it, covering it with a mosaic tile pattern.

Putting it together was not difficult, but it wasn't easy, either. I think it took me about an hour and a half, but I was watching a movie while I did it, so perhaps I wasn't being efficient.

I also attached a power strip to the rear of the table, making it easy to plug in my electronics. I plan to make a magazine holder and attach it to the back, too. The weight of the unit is a good thing, given my plans for it.

OK product

Can't swear about durability yet, only had it a couple of weeks. But it was easy to put together and looks really nice. Plus bought matching coffee table with lift top. They finish off the look of my living room beautifully and inexpensively. Put the end table together one evening after work, before dinner, so it didn't take very long. Plus did it myself, no problem. Just a screw driver, hammer and rubber mallet (not required in instructions, but very handy very some pieces that I couldn't strong arm).

Great deal and looks nice!

Really like this product. Looks more expensive than it is.
Would like another one, but husband refuses to put another one together.
Not an east job and wouldn't want to try it myself. Two person job. Watch out that the holes in bottom of top are to the front not back.

Great looking side table.

I purchased this table for my husband to use. It is made of good quality materials and is very sturdy. The door hinges are well made and the upper shelf has runners on the entire length of the shelf that slides out so the shelf will not tip the table over. The full covers for the legs prevent scratches on hardwood floors or snags on carpet. I had looked for several months for a side table that was not too wide yet could be used next to an extra large recliner. This turned out to be the length of the recliner and just wide enough to be used comfortably by a 6'6" man. The search was worth it.

Well worth the search

Very nice cabinet once I got them put together. Another review discussed making sure the top inside shelf is positioned right so the door stop button can be inserted. I did not understand what they were talking about until I put the first one together. I had to drill a hole for the stop as I too put it in backwards. No warning in the instructions about this. The next one went fine. Just be aware. Also, shelf sliders are a pain to get in once the top is on. I tried putting them in before I installed the top but then you can not get to the cams to tighten the top. Have to live with it. Overall I would recommend.

Overall A Good Product

Very nice looking end table with lots of features. I like being able to choose which way the door opens. The slide out shelf is a really nice feature. The directions for assembling it could have been easier to understand, particularly in regard to the installation of the runners for the slide out shelf. Make sure when installing the bottom and the shelf that the hole needed for the door stop is at the front of the end table. Although we followed the directions the hole had been drilled at the wrong end and we did not notice this till it was completely assembled. We had to drill a new hole.

Rustic and heavy duty but attractive. An excellent choice if you are looking for a budget-priced table with many features. It has a slide-out tray that is handy with ample storage on the lower shelves. I have purchased Sauder products and was not disappointed with this one.

Well crafted American made product

Fits the spot that I wanted it for perfectly. The only problem was the instructions were kind of hard to figure out in some areas, but after a few goofs we finally got it put together.

Very nice little side table

Assembly instructions were vague and not all pieces were marked. It is nice looking, but will need to be careful with the finish since it is a veneer.

Purchased two. Came on time. Easy to construct. Very solid and heavy piece of furniture. Excellent instructions.
My only issue is that I can't imagine a function for that small sliding shelf on the top. Too small to hide remotes and/or other electronics. Would have been nice had it been a two or three inch deep drawer. Thought about dropping the shelf down a bit but then there would have been a gap that just wouldn't look right.
All in all, a good fit for my family room couch.

Nice piece of inexpensive furniture

Some of the pieces do not fit together properly, leaving gaps and weakness. Instructions are poorly written leading to unnecessary mistakes.
