Can't swear about durability yet, only had it a couple of days. But it was fairly easy to put together and looks really nice. Plus bought matching end table. They finish off the look of my living room beautifully and inexpensively. Definitely takes two people to assemble. My boyfriend and I put the coffee table together in an hour or so. Instructions call for a screw driver and hammer, but we added a rubber mallet (much better way to get the slide on parts attached, they say gently slide onto screws, we gently used the rubber mallet and a strong downward pressure to slide the boards on). Oh, the instructions have you putting a cam screw on boards A & B and then sliding boards on the other side. Do yourself a favor and take out the cam screws and put them back after. Much easier to slide boards when it's flat on the carpet.

Great lift top coffee table, and affordable!

I purchased this table to serve many functions in a studio apartment with limited space. It works great in front of the loveseat where it serves as a coffee table and when the top is raised, works well as a computer/work space and dining surface. Be patient when assembling and make sure you have someone to help you during the final steps of fitting the top to the base. Unfortunately I did not (although the instructions say to do so) resulting in a scratch inside the storage space made by the spring hinge. There is a ample storage space under the lift top and the lower shelves as well. Sauder makes great products here in the U.S. I bought the matching side table and 46" TV stand and am very pleased with each.

Rustic, heavy duty but attractive

I love this table. It was exactly what I was looking for. The only problem was the instructions for putting it together could be better. They need to put arrows for direction and make sure all the pieces are numbered. It takes at least two people to put this together. I would recommend this table. It is very well made and a good quality for the price.

This product has many great reviews. I was almost skeptical given how many good reviews there are--I thought for sure I would find something to complain about but I really can't.

It looks great, looks more expensive than it is, the size is perfect for our apartment, the lift-top is very practical and assembly isn't too difficult.

If you are familiar with Sauder products then you should be comfortable with the assembly process here. There are a couple of tricky parts that I haven't encountered before: sliding on the molding/trim can be a bit difficult and the lift-top assembly definitely requires two people. But it was all very manageable. For the molding/trim, just have one person push down while the other slides or gently tap it with a hammer. For the lift-top assembly, someone just has to hold it in place. It'll all make sense once you get there.

This is definitely one of the best values in furniture I've ever encountered. You can't go wrong here.

Unbeatable value for a great coffee table

we purchased a similar one for my mothers newly restored home and my hubby absolutely loved it. after looking around and seeing some for over $600 we decided on this one for looks and standard size coffee table. it even fit the glass top we had on the old one. makes the top a little heavy to lift but no complaints from my hubby who is the one who uses it. even had his niece over last night and she sat easily beside him sharing the lift top for pizza dinner. storage is great and the shelf under it fits two baskets for more. the corners on top are a little sharp for little ones or for knees, and i feel for the price the quality is just fine! the instructions were fine, but we are used to assembling and understand the jargon. did take two people and it probably was 90 minutes. do remove the letters as you go. would quickly purchase another if the opportunity arose. we've had it over a month now and has been used practically every night. LOVE LIFT TOP COFFEE TABLES !!!

Supper doper !! looks high end. I was very surprised. The kids love it, I bought this for my Grandson collage room. It is better than expected. They all love it.
The brads on the sides look classic. The wood has a nice finish. The way the top comes up makes it look modern and up to date. It could go in any high end home , or classes up a collage apartment.

my only complaint is that the pictures in the intsructions were not clear - the screw being color coded would have helped and more detailed explaination of steps would have made the process of putting it together easier--but the end product is great!

lift top coffee table

This Coffee Table meets and exceeds all of my expectations. It is the perfect height, weight, size, etc. It looks great too, especially in our dining room. It looks great complementing our other furniture, television and chairs. I am happy with this product and I would definitely recommend it to others!

Good Quality Product. Very good val for the price.

Do not buy this!! Table is very poor quality and defective. I am contacting the company to take it back. It is cheap and does not work. In addition, the assembly instructions are very difficult to understand. It took my husband over 4 hours to assemble this and he is good at this type of thing. Not a fun day at all. At the end, the top did not even fit in the table without scratching the sides!!!

TERRIBLE

This comes flat in a box. Some assembly required. Yeah, like the Statue of Liberty. I took one look at the assembly instructions and took it back. I mean, this is assembly at or near the subatomic level. Scads of flat pieces of wood, copious supplies of tiny hardware. I've never seen a Sauder so utterly disintegrated! Please take most of my numerical ratings above with a grain of salt, since I didn't ever see the unit assembled and expect I never will. I liked the table's features as advertised, but didn't realize I'd have to indenture myself for life to see it in the "flesh." Nope.
