Unlike what others have said it took me just over 2 hours to build instruction very easy to follow. No issues with any thing. Very sturdy. Actually have wanted this item for over 3 years and use it daily. Will be back to look at other items.

Looks great and useful

I was looking for a lift top table for a long time. This was the perfect price and function. Sturdy, functional and elegant!

chic and sturdy

I am a Sauder fan! I loved the matching end tables. Thought I was going to love the coffee table, but some of the hardware was awful. One of the holes was precut incorrectly, and the bottom shelf was off.  The pre drilled holes for the spring was hard to see and hard to maneuver. Very stressful process. We have worked on it for 2 days and had to stop. Hopefully we wont have to send it back.

Not What I Expected!

Sauder generally has well made products.  I ordered the table because I liked it. I opted to put it together for 2 reasons. First because I couldn't see spending almost $100 for someone else to put it together when I'm mechanically inclined. Second, I enjoy putting things together. 
 All went well until step 22 of 30 something.  I ended up with 2 extra screws, so I called Sauder's customer service. The female I spoke with had no clue what she was talking about when she told me that there must be a misprint and I really only needed 6, LOL!  I got it figured out and yes, all 10 screws were needed. Other than a couple of nicks on one piece and the inept customer service department, I was satisfied with the table and the assembly instructions. 
If you decide to put it together yourself, be prepared for a long day but the satisfaction of knowing you did it is worth more than $100

Nice little coffee table for the money

It's definitely a step up from our old coffee table. Looks pretty nice until you inspect it closely and realize a lot of the parts don't line up all that well. I'm also not a huge fan of the foldout top staying down with simple rubber pressure bumpers. Click-in stops would make me feel more confident that it's not going to pop up on its own.

In all, we got what we paid for. Nothing fancy, but a serviceable coffee table, the defects of which we will likely be the only ones to notice.
