No damage from shipping I saw (as opposed to the last item from Sauder ~ not their fault, but still any damage in shipping is disappointing. . . ) . It came within the time frame as I expected. I had no problems putting it together, well, I put two of the ""Legs"" on opposite, and then the shelfs wouldn't go in. My fault, I was taking my time, but somehow messed up. Reversed the legs, and finished it up. Getting old I guess. It holds a lot of books, which is what I needed it for. Looks good, and oh by the way, the price was very good. I thought I might even purchase another, but they went OFF sale. . . . You snooze, you lose. . . :-). Very good product, easy to put together, looks very good and is solid. Worth every sale price penny! Is it worth full price? Hmmm maybe. . . :-)

Tall Bookshelf Review

Sauder Woodworking Co.

We refreshed a spare bedroom and used the Dakota Pass collection to furnish it. This bookcase was the last piece. Item is close to 100 lbs shipped, so it's a bit bulky to handle alone. Pieces all fit perfect, and assembly took 90 minutes to 2 hours to complete. It's a bookcase, so not rocket science to put together. Assembling it in the room where it will be used made it easy to just stand it up and walk it in place. Very manageable for one to do once assembled. Very sturdy once complete. All seams pulled tight with no uneven gaps. No damaged pieces. Nice and square . Wife likes it . Happy wife, happy life. Would buy again.

Perfect finish for the bedroom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this bookshelf! It's sturdy, strong and beautifully made. I did have a few hiccups putting it together but only because I either didn't understand or because it was much bigger then I anticipated when I purchased it. But once I got the hang of the assembly it wasn't so bad. I might even buy another one for more books lol

Love this bookshelf

These are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and sturdy.  For this price point I wasn't expecting the level of craftmanship.  Everything with exception of the back is solid.  The color is much prettier in person as well.  Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Bookcase had a small crack in it from shipping, but was VERY sturdy & not terribly hard to put together.  Love it!

Very Sturdy/Large

This is a great set. I have the armoire and the small dresser. East to assemble and looks good in the small space I have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this bookshelf is great! It does contain lots of parts and pieces, but the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. It looks really good too. My only complaint is that the “backboard” given to nail to the back of the bookshelf is very thin and flimsy, and was difficult to position over the back shelves to nail it in and secure it.

The final look of the bookcase is fine, but there are issues in assembly. The twist-locks are difficult to use and easy to mess up. If messed up, they are very difficult to use. I recommend replacing them with cams and cam-bolts. Also, the back panel is not wide enough, and it is difficult to position so that the nails can be hammered in the proper places. I am somewhat disappointed with the weight limits per shelf. A shelf over 30 inches in width should be able to carry more than 30 pounds.

Not as good as I hoped.

I like Sauder products but when this came in my husband immediately said it was too heavy for what I wanted to do. I looked at returning it but I would have to pay for shipping, could only get credit for a future purchase, and possibly not even full credit. Im sure its a good sturdy bookcase. If I could return it to a local store for a full refund I would be giving 5 stars.
