Other reviewers indicated that this table was difficult to put together. Actually, I found the directions to be fairly explicit. I was able to put it together without help fairly easily. I would recommend a power screwdriver for the legs. The holes were not pre-drilled far enough. With the power screwdriver, it was not a problem. The lift-top is sturdy. We have enjoyed dinner and at home work time easily on the table top. My only complaint would be the lack of finish on the top. Coffee tables take a beating in our house as the family room is the central location for all family activities. I put an extra layer of water based polyurethane on our coffee table's top to hopefully extend the life. It would be nice to see this added in production. Overall, this is a great table for our needs. It is sturdy and provides tons of visible and hidden storage.

Great coffee table for working/eating

The height of the lift top table is perfect when extended. And, it's big enough that two people could actually use it for a table. The hidden storage and the bottom shelves make it all that I could want from a coffee table. I love the look of this collection by Sauder. Being black it will be a dust collector though and as others have mentioned it shows finger prints. It may not be the best for small children especially with the sharp corners. But for me, it's perfect.

It took a while to put together that's why it has a lower rating for the set up but the directions were good. Everything was in excellent condition. All pieces that I've purchased in this series were very well wrapped to protect the contents, no missing pieces/parts and good instructions. I followed the directions closely and made sure to put it on something soft while assembling and everything worked perfectly when complete and very sturdy.

Great table

I love this coffee table. It has plenty of storage space that I have filled with baskets to add privacy. I love the lift top and find it convenient when working on my laptop or having dinner in front of TV.
This is a great buy!

Love the look and awesome storage

This coffee table is a great buy for the money you spend on it. I will say that it came with broken parts; the top of the table had a huge crack in it, but Sauder sent a replacement quickly. Now that my table is completely assembled, I am very happy with the finished product. It looks exactly like it does in the picture. It's a great addition to my living room, and I loved the low price! You get what you pay for, so don't expect the nicest coffee table, but if you're looking for something cheap and usable this is a great choice.

ONLY BAD is that two screw holes were in the wrong place and I had to make two new ones, and somewhat complicated to set up

good product; however, kind of difficult to set up as not all the pictures are easy to decipher. also part of an edge was chipped during shipping. be very careful, if you overtighten anything or hit into it with a tool, it will chip/get damaged.

We  have had this table for about 2 weeks.  I like the look and design.  It was very easy to build with easy to follow instructions.  We didn't give it 5 stars because the lift top seems like it could become "off-kilter" if not used carefully.  The rest of the construction seems to be very sturdy.   It also would have been nice if it was on castors like most other lift top coffee tables.  We have reclining couches so we need to be able to easily move the table away when reclining and closer when using the lift top feature.  Otherwise, we are very happy with this table and the price compared to most lift top tables was excellent!

Good lift top table for the price

It takes a little too long to put together.  The finish scratches VERY easy so be very careful while you are putting it together.  It would be great if it brought with it one of those furniture scratch pens.  You will need it. Once assembled, it is very difficult to slide on the floor.  You will probably end up buying a set of furniture sliders for it.

Its an ok piece of furniture

Disappointed to learn that engineered wood is particle board. Not sure that this is going to last long at all. IT looks decent, but shows fingerprints really bad due to the dark finish as well as some fo the pieces did not line up well, and since it is a particle board substance and the unfinished edges are not like the black finish, it is noticeable ( light beige showing through) Well see how long this really holds up. I can see it getting scratched easily, and their is no way to fix that.

Ok for the price

Much smaller than appears and top was scratched out of the box. Very complex to put together. I am only keeping it because it would be more money than its worth to put another one together.

Very Disappointed

Very cheaply made. It was all scratched up by the time we put it together. Would have expected this if it was a cheap item but it was $150.00 I expected much better quality. Returning item & will not repurchase.
