We purchased the matching Computer Amoire a few months ago and bought the Library as an additional piece for the family room. Delivery at home was a breeze (had Amoire delivered to store, VERY heavy). Assembly was easy to follow and complete; however, all pieces were not marked by assigned letter so it took a little more time to figure out -- recommend laying out and identifying all pieces first. Attractive, sturdy piece for the price; would definitely recommend. We have a 17-year-old Sauder entertainment center and it's held up well, now used in basement for kids. Expect some knicks on lower edges as normal wear, but a matching marker can easily hide them.

I will for sure be a repeat buyer of sander brand. This is a decent sturdy piece that looks pricey. The cheapest part is the backing and it still has a pretty design to look at that makes it look expensive. Shelves are heavy and very sturdy. I 100% reccomend this!

Love it!

This bookcase is a great value. Yes, it is all particleboard. The color is dark like the photos. I feel the design is very unique and elegant, and it was the deciding factor in our purchase. It's hard to find something that looks this nice for the price.

Our packaging arrived pretty intact considering it weighs in at 200lbs. There was some damage to the packaging but no impact to the internal product. There was extra reinforcement added around the outer edges of the box and this seems to help with damage control.

The assembly directions are at times unclear and inconsistent. One example is the facade pieces that boarder the top and bottom of the shelve. The two pieces are exactly the same, including the pre-drilled holes. However, you don't install them the same and the directions don't specifically call out there are two separate pieces and you do one thing to one piece and something completely different to the other. There is just a picture of the 2 pieces in the inset. My initial impression was that operations were performed to both pieces and these were just showing you what to do in steps, when in fact you had to glean what to do from just the pictures with no words. It was little confusing things like this that increased assembly time by a decent amount. However, aside from a few instances like that, the directions were otherwise straightforward.

On the engineering side, I do like that there was no glue involved. The dowel latching system used in place was I felt more convenient, if not slightly more robust.

Nice Value

This is a very sturdy book shelf. It was easy to put together. My book shelf was damaged in transport, but I went to Sauders' website and ordered a replacement part. The process was smooth. Over all, I am pleased with my purchase.

So sturdy!

This is a super cute piece.  Very sturdy and solid and blends wel with my much more expensive furniture.   Color is a soft buttery cream,  similar to french vanilla ice cream.
Will probably buy another one!

Super cute, great color, sturdy

Was delivered promptly.  My husband put it together, which took a couple hours.  Went pretty smoothly.  Looks nice in our dining room.  Sturdy.  Only wish the drawer was lined with felt for silverware.  Will go out and buy something that fits inside drawer for silverware.

Nice for the price.

The product is beautiful. Great addition to our family room with the matching TV stand. The package came damaged from Wal-Mart, so we had to call Sauder to get a few replacement boards. They were great with sending the replacements and had those within a week.

Great bookcase!

Main side boards were cracked in shipping, Sauder shipped new parts and received within one week, that box was also damaged in shipping, but parts were usable. The instructions are very thorough for assembly, took about 1.5 hrs to complete. Should have come with an oopma loompa, need a tiny person to squeeze into the bookcase to assemble the facing boards, that part was rather challenging. Over all it seems to be a very strudy piece.

Sturdy, nice looking piece

Panel D does not align with the whole cabinet, which makes the whole cabinet off by about 3/8 inch. Wish I had my husband re-drill correct holes but he wasn't home so I just built it, knowing it was going to be a little off. It is a nice looking piece. Great for storage. Wish that 1 stinking board had been done correctly otherwise it would be perfect.

Decent purchase

We bought two of these bookcases and were very surprised at the quality when they arrived.  They were in great shape and packed with a lot of care with all pieces in tact.  My husband had no problem putting them together and they  look great.  We would have no problem recommending them to anyone.

Saunter book cases

Oh man.. ok so I really wanted to like this hutch, was pretty in the pics online, high reviews -but- you DO NEED a power drill regardless what directions say, because there's only a few pre-drilled holes and the front end pieces have nothing but “grooves” to guide your screws and there are 100s of screws!! My poor husband and I were hurting our arms and hands trying to use the suggested Philips head, instead of a power drill.

And regardless if you use a power drill or not, the pieces don't line up properly and the end result is wobbly and wonky regardless. 

It's a poor design. It sways side to side regardless.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

We wanted to give up several times and throw it in the trash but just return it to WM and get your money back
