The desk has a nice style and provides the basic features for a computer work space. Lots of parts so set up took some time but product is sturdy and I am not concerned about it being able to hold 2 monitors safely.
A little disappointed that the surface shows every finger print.
Also disappointed to realize after opening my shipment and having it partly put together, that 2 of the top edges were damaged in shipping but because it was so reasonably priced and I didn't want the hassle of trying to return a product I bought online, I kept it. It would have been nice to have the option of buying in store for that reason - then I probably would have taken it back to exchange it.

Great basic desk - very sturdy

We needed a desk for our computer and saw this as an adequate desk based on the picture and reviews. When it arrived, assembly quickly followed. The directions were pretty good. The parts all arrived in perfect condition due to very functional packaging. Once assembly was complete, the desk looks VERY impressive. I can't comment on durability due to the length of time of ownership but it a really worthwhile purchase.

More than we expected

for the dent the desktop got during shipping. It was less the size of a penny and not horrible. I did not want to wait for another one via return so I'm using as is. Really nice clean look and as sturdy as can be. I have a monitor and desktop computer on it... Very happy with this product.

Perfect Except...

My husband works from home a couple of days a week, and we needed to get him a new desk that would fit better in the corner of the dining room that has become his office.

It hasn't had a lot of use yet since we haven't had it long, but it's as sturdy as I've come to expect from Sauder projects, and for a particle board/veneer desk, it looks great.

It was fairly simple to put together. Even had a couple of extra screws which is nice, because it's easy to lose some of the tiny ones! My husband actually enjoyed putting it together. The instructions were better written than many manuals we've seen, and almost all the pieces were labeled. Installing the drawers was probably the trickiest part, but even that wasn't too bad after carefully looking over the pieces and instructions.

We've also purchased the matching filing cabinet, which we've had now for over a year and is holding up well, so I expect the same from the desk.

We're pleased with our purchase and would recommend it to others looking for a decent desk for a decent price.

Great Desk for the Price

I bought this desk knowing that I would not need a lot of storage space and did want to fill the draws with junk. It has a nice dark brown color that is nearly black. It has enough space on top of the desk to have my laptop on one side and my books on the other to do study. It is very heavy! We live on the third floor. Be mindful of the weight if you are unable to lift heavy objects. I personally could barely slide the box across the floor. It was delivered directly to my apartment within just days of ordering although the estimated delivery time was for about two-three weeks from the purchase date. The box had a big rip in the front and we were concerned that it had caused damage. Well, that one did not; however, there were two other small rips we had not seen and it did cause damage to the top piece. I thought our only choices were to either live with it or package it back up and return it to the store. Neither of these options worked for my boyfriend. He called Sauder directly and the customer service rep was excellent. She apologized for the inconvenience and sent out a new desk top that arrived in two days no charge. This one was not damage. It is particle board and does seem to get smudged and even a little scratched fairly quickly, but it's not too noticeable. Overall, for what I paid and what I need it for, it's perfect.

Good basic desk

The desk turned out to be exactly what I was looking for (having not seen it in person, only through pics online). However, the assembly instructions were not the most detailed. Following the directions caused me to have to go back in steps to get the correct drawer roller layout. Other than that the directions were adequate for a novice to assemble the desk. The other complaint I have is that the desk top had a gouge on the visible top surface near where the user would see it, likely caused during shipping. Yes, I could have exchanged it for an undamaged model, but it was too much of a hassle having to unassemble the parts that were already configured, re-pack and ship the desk back. So I am reluxtantly living with it. Saunders should figure out a better way to package the desk to avoid damage like that which I received.

Nice Desk...but

I got this for my dorm room. It IS a good desk and it was cheap for what I needed it for, but there are some flaws.

First off, the whole back side of the desk doesn't have any black polish on it at all, it's just that awkward wood color. So be sure to have your desk against a wall. Also, they use hidden screws which don't hold up when you put the top on! Mine broke when I put the top on! Like the lining came completely off. That pisssssssssed me off but I suppose it still works fine (although it is broken, cheap screws).

I needed to rant a bit, but it is a good table.

A good desk for a dorm room but has some flaws.

Here is one glaring omission from the product description! Notice that the desk is shown in all the photos ONLY from the side where you sit? That's because the wood on the front of the desk is UNFINISHED! NOWHERE do they tell you this, and nowhere does it say that the desk MUST go against a wall! Not everyone wants to do that! It would cost them pennies to finish both sides and the edges of the front pieces as well, but apparently they are too cheap! >:(  I would never have purchased this if I had known the front was unfinished. Shame on them for not being up front about this!  >:-(

Very cheaply made! Manufacturers measurements and cuts were sloppy. Drawers did not line up properly! Then trying to make adjustments to accommodate and partical board broke apart. Wouldn't own this product ever again even if someone gave it to me for free.

CHEAP!

Saunder used to be a good company for the amount of money to purchase their items.

This desk is of poor quality. After putting the desk together, within a week, the drawer and keyboard drawers fell off all by themselves.

I don't think I will purchase Saunder products ever again.
