After purchasing a electric home carpet cleaner I was so disappointed when the carpet got dirty faster than ever before. I live in a home with 3 males, a dog and 2 active grand babies. I love having nice things and recently purchased a new area rug for my bedroom; a very expensive, floral bright color area rug. "call me crazy" but Scothgard Carpet & Rug protector is my rescuer. It makes my carpet look always bright.It protects from every spill, resist stains,and keep my rug new. I would not use anything else! It does everything it says its suppose to do but most of all it gives me the reassurance that I can still have the nice things I want without giving up the kids or the dog!

Scotchgard Carpet & Rug Protector to the rescue!

We own a rental property in a South Carolina resort area and after cleaning the carpets (which are an off white berber) each year, I spray Scotch Guard carpet protector throughly on all carpeting. I swear by it to help repel dirt & spills. It REALLY WORKS! I would be lost without it!

Really Works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to sample and write a review. I've tested it on my car mats and my inside front & back door mats. So far, it is holding up well. Also, easy to use! I'm really wanting to see how it does with all the winter deicer and salt. Hate mentioning winter, but all that salt and deicer stuff stains. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this might do the trick this winter :)

Great Product for Car Mats & Indoor Rugs

I've used Scotchguard fabric protector for the past 35 years for upholstery, pillows, seat cushions, car seats, etc. I was disappointed when I could not find it in any of the stores I frequented. I went to your site and found the stores listed within my area. I was soooo relieved when I found it that I bought extra since I didn't know what I would do without it! It has performed exceptionally well on repelling dirt, liquids, and stains and I now need it to protect the new wool throw rug in my remodeled kitchen. Thank you for a great product!

carpet protection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My fiance and I bought a brand new house and decided to scotchguard the carpeting. Even though it comes with a coating to repel stains we figured it wouldn't hurt since we have two large dogs who love the outdoors. I love the product except for the price you don't get very much.

My new carpeting

Seems to protect nicely, but left a residue that gripped the vacuum and made it very difficult to push. This lasted through about 10 cycles of vacuuming.

I just used this product on our new rug.  While I don't know at this point just how good it is for repelling stains, I and can say the meager spray that comes out of the cans terrible.  I didn't just get a defective can because I used 7cans. Because this product is specifically for carpets, the spray should be FAR Greater.  I had to get on my hands and knees to apply it, so poor engineering job on the distribution design.

So unsatisfied with this product. I followed the instructions and even tested a spot to ensure the rug would not fade, BUT once I covered most of the rug, I began to notice fading. Uneven fading at that... Now my brand new rug looks faded and old.
