I've only had it a few days, but it works great!   Very easy to just plug in and use.  fits in the palm of my hand.  The color isn't really blue - it looks more silver.  It's silver with a very slight blue cast.
I also purchased a red one just like it about 2 months ago.  I love it!  One is to store my files on, and the other is to back that one up.

Seagate has been my most favorite for many years. I prefer storing my own writing, art, and photography separately on my Seagate.  I worked tech a long time. I have had another smaller Seagate for years but I need the BIG Seagate now! I LOVE SEAGATE!!!!

Best External Backup EVER!!!

I bought this item many times and always my good choice, its speed, easy to use make me come back to buy few in the future, copy speed around 100 Mb/s, new , seal with DOM from 03/2024

Good overall

I'm a Network Engineer and I just bought this Seagate 5TB Backup Plus portable drive from Walmart, and it's honestly one of the best purchases I've made in a while.
The build quality feels solid, the transfer speeds are fast over USB 3.0, and 5 terabytes gives me plenty of space for backups and storage. It's compact, reliable, and the price was really good.
I've used many external drives over the years, and this one is definitely a winner. Highly recommend it — whether you're a professional or just need reliable storage at home.

Excellent 5TB Drive - Fast, Reliable.

The portable unit is a little larger than a deck of cards so it doesn't take up lots of desk space. My old hard drive needed its own chair so the smaller one is much more attractive at my house. It has lots of storage (5TB) and saves data quickly. I like it.

good replacement hard drive

I had to purchase this Segate 5TB external drive as my old one broke and had to be replaced.  This drive has very large capacity and can accommodate thousands of pictures and videos.   So far it is working really well.   The feature that I like the best is the ability to connect the drive to Mac without formatting.   You can use it on Mac or PC effortlessly and interchangeably.  You just plug into ether one and use it.   My previous Segate drive had to be formatted, so you could not use it on the PC.. The price at Walmart is the lowest that I found for 5TB. 

The only thing that I would change is  that I would include Micro-B to C connection cord ( the only one included is Micro-B to USB) to be able to connect to Mac without extra attachments.  These cords are available to buy, but  it would be nice if it was included. Then you can use it right out of the box.  Other than that, great external drive at a great price.

Great capacity versatile drive at a great price

First time I used the drive pc restarted from update while backing up files and drive locked up had to format it to get it to work again.  Cost wise it is a good value.  But I use this as a back up for files on my laptop ,desktop and work laptop but don't trust that it won't lock up again and lose everything.

My external hard drive is clearly not a new one it is all scratched up fresh out of the box by the way it is also stating that it keeps getting unplugged unproperly and all of the cords are plugged in that is insane because I never unplugged it once I was playing the game something is wrong and I definitely need my refund that device is definitely not worth 120 dollars at all doesn't even work the way it should . The back cover is loose and making noise and there are scratches all over it .

Used sold a brand new price

I am very familiar with external hard drives.  To begin with every time you use this one it asks if you want to copy the metadata.  Not a big deal, but the big deal is that it asks this for EVERY FILE.  If you click "yes" to all, that only applies until you decide to move something else to it.

So, then I decided I'll just reformat the drive.  That wasn't easy.  It is finally reformatted now, but won't show up in file management.  If you assign it a drive letter, it will show up.  But it will never find the available drive slot and show up that way.

I purchased two of these.  They won't both work.  Even after reformatting it says there is a conflict between the two.

I have probably 15 other externals and have never had this issue.  Just don't buy this drive and save yourself a headache.
