Can be quiet, but also produces noticeable sounds when in use.

I have literally just used this for the first time within the last hour and a half.  I cleaned it, set it up to use where I will keep it, plugged it in and let it make ice for the first time.  It holds 6 cups of water, makes the cutest little bullet-sized ice cubes (they are hollow, too), and makes enough to more than fill a plastic storage bin that I use for two trays of regular sized ice cubes.    It is quiet (you do hear when the ice cubes have formed and drop into the top tray; then it quietly rakes them into the ice bin, but that is not loud at all).  Mine is in my kitchen, but I do move the ice to bins to go in my refrigerator freezer (in plastic bins) as they do appear to get moist if left for long in the ice basket of this machine.  Was thinking I would use if for my back porch "bar" area, but it needs to be in cooler temperatures, so it is in the kitchen (next to my refrigerator).  I am pleased with it!

My first ice maker!  I like it but it wasn't what I was expecting.  I wanted to make ice to transfer to my freezer, but the ice it makes is soggy wet and when I transfer it to the freezer the ice cubes fuse together.  I had to use an ice pick.  Other than that, I love it and it makes ice very quickly.

This little ice maker is so excellent that I am considering it as gift items.  The only issues I had with installation was peeling away the blue plastic.  It was so gorgeous I wanted it to stay on - but the instructions were to get rid of it. Then it was difficult to get off. The only other issue is that it is NOT quiet. It is constantly making ice - which I love - but you can hear it on other floors of the house.  Love it though!

Excellent!

The ice maker is nice, but it doesn't really stay frozen too long in the machine. Have to put in regular freezer asap, then its frozen as chunk. But can be broken up easily. Other than that its great for me. I don't have an ice maker in my fridge. Sturdy machine. Makes ice fairly quick too.

Ice maker

Its super fast but if you want to make a lot of ice you have to babysit it to keep the small bin empty. I originally thought it would be great for camping to refill our coolers, but thesmall bin fills quickly and won't make more ice until you empty it. and it doesn't hold much and the ice starts to melt if you let it sit in the bin too long and if you put it in a cooler it's going to melt before you get the next batch in. its great if you want ice water or ice in drinks but it's not going to replace that big bag of ice you have to buy unless you want to sit there all day and constantly empty it. But it does what its promised to do. you have ice within minutes of putting water in it.

So, this is on me but….while this ice maker cranks out ice very quickly, it does NOT keep the ice cold.  If you want ice “on demand” this is the unit for you.  If on the otherhand, you want ice quickly AND keep it cold….this unit is a ONE STAR unit.  I can't remember if I saw a WARNING that this ice maker will NOT keep your ice…ice cold!   Bad on me for not figuring this one out BEFORE I ordered it. Has Homer Simpson would say…”Douuugh!"

Does NOT Keep Ice COLD!!!!

I replaced another brand with this. Although it is stainless, it's shape is self defeating. 
1. It could (others do!) have a flatter top. So this has NO PLACE for the ice scoop. It can be set on top, but the slightest tap and the scoop is gone. 
2.  I use bottled water, so cleaning every week isn't an issue. However, do the cleaning once or twice before using it. That will eliminate a very slight after taste. 
3.  My other one had two sizes of cubes.  I miss that now. 
4. Design again.  I have seen another maker that had a gap in the basket shape for adding water. 

One thing that appears in every machine I have seen, both on line and in person. The basket seems to be universal.  The flat section in the back that lifts the cubes and dumps them in the tray are all the same!  The ice full sensor beams are located the same. 
Speaking of the ice full sensor, it comes on a lot because the ice isn't added to the tray from a high enough angle.  So, a half full bin will cause the next ice to stop in front of the sensor, causing the machine to stop. 
Overall, the machine DOES produce cubes every six minutes as all makers seem to do. Without errors and false sensing you get a decent amount in 45 minutes. 
This is my bedroom machine so I don't have to go downstairs. 😁

Instructions say that it makes cubes but us not a freezer. This has   insanely good insulation then. I have had a full bin of ice remain frozen from 10PM until 7AM when I turned it off.  That is a plus. 

Overall, I like this ice maker, but it needs better design.   I am going to try drilling a hole in the scoop handle and use a small Command plastic hook on the side. 🤔

Slight redesign could make this perfect

I don't like how the ice melts in the basket!! As the cycles continue, the ice melts. How is it making ice when it can't even keep what it made 6-8min ago frozen enough to not melt?? It's quicker than the old school way but I'm leaning more old school.

Doesn't like how fresh ice melts

This product did not work as it said it would.  It did make ice cubes…once.  However cubes melted quickly and the water did not recycle.  The only way it worked was to start with warm water.  It was a gift for my kids.  I told them to take it back to Walmart. Maybe this one was just faulty, but either way, we were very disappointed.

Faulty

I purchased it as a Christmas gift but decided to use it for a Mother's Day gift instead. I just plugged it in, followed the instructions and it is doing absolutely nothing. The fan is not spinning, the buttons on top don't appear to be working, and although I have gone through the "troubleshooting" process included in the directions, it has been 30 minutes, and it is still not working. I wish now that I had opened this and tried it at the time of purchase because I would have known sooner that it was junk, unless I just happened to purchase a "lemon".
