Your little ones will cruise to Dreamland in style with the Roadster Toddler-to-Twin Kids’ Bed™. Mini car enthusiasts will love the details and styling made to look like the real thing! This children’s car bed will make sleep transitions fun. Start with the toddler-size bed using your crib mattress, which sits low to the ground and allows the car walls to act as extra support to keep little ones from rolling out. When your child is ready, add the front and side panels to expand to accommodate a twin-size mattress. Using a twin mattress only, the side walls continue to provide guardrail-like support. When guardrail support is no longer needed, you can add a box spring to raise the mattress up higher. With this car bed for kids, bedtime becomes a treat rather than a chore!

Ease Of Assembly

Build Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bed arrived in two boxes, all the hardware was included minus the use of a Phillips head screwdriver. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Took me about 40 minutes to assemble solo. Would recommend for anyone trying to live vicariously through their children because the wife won't let you have a super cool race car bed.

Live vicariously

step2.com

My 2 year old son loves it. Durable. Easy transition from crib because we have only the crib mattress in it now, so it's low enough that he won't fall out when he moves around in his sleep. It's nice to have the toddler bed option as well so we can just add the extra parts when he's ready, also to add a box spring. Well worth it.

Durable, great transition from crib

This is the 4th roadster bed I've purchased for my grandsons. I have 2 in my home for visits and they have two at their home for everyday. Best transition from crib with 10” firm mattress, there's still a bunker to keep from rolling out. Well made and fairly simple to assemble. We've never bothered with the toddler size- straight to twin.

Grandson approved!

Bought this second Twin/Toddler Race Car Bed for my grandson since he's done so well in the one at my house. This made the transition from crib to big boy bed so smooth. The 16 1/2” height with a 10” mattress in a box is the perfect combination. Easy to climb in and out of and he sometimes goes to play there just for fun. Easy assembly according to my daughter who has put two together. Details are lifelike and sturdy construction with no sharp edges like my twin trundles. Perfect addition to his nursery(fits in a very small bedroom with crib and dresser) and suits my sleepover playroom as well!

Realistic Roadster Bed

There is white on the car? I was looking to redecal the all red car with my grandson's favourite Cars character Lightning McQueen. The picture above is an all red car, as was the one I ordered -no white racing stripe

White racing stripe on the car I got

This bed is so cute and perfect for every car loving little kid. My son loves it and it's so great that it's essentially a floor bed so any age could enjoy it without falling off. The only thing is that it's literally plastic sides all the way around and it's $500 plus tax. I think the price is crazy for what it is, but we bought it because it matches my son's room perfectly.

Adorable , versatile bed

Very nice and happy with purchase. Just a little expensive compared to others. I opted for this one however for the extendable option. Toddler loves it! Easy to assemble. No sharp edges, but my son still bangs his head on it a bit when tossing and turning. I think that would happen with any model though.

Very happy toddler

My son loves this bed, so it certainly has that going for it. But for $400, the quality is lacking. Ours arrived very dusty and dirty. Once we put it together and cleaned it up, we realized it was actually scratched and scuffed in several places.
The mattress also sits right on the floor, which I didn't realize. I assumed there would be slats of some kind.
Overall, good but not great for the money.

Good not great

I purchased this item off of the Walmart.ca website and the item itself was the wrong colour when it arrived which is not a big deal in itself. My dilemma was the fact that I had already removed the old bed from my house leaving me with the options of having my toddler sleep of the floor for the next 2 weeks while Walmart got me the red bed I had ordered or keep the grey one they delivered. That alone didn't warrant a 1 star rating as it is a relatively minor inconvenience but I've only ordered of the website 3 times and twice I've had issues and a 66% failure rate is unacceptable.

Unprofessional

Step2 Roadster Toddler-To-Twin Bed (Red) front-facing low-profile toddler car bed with molded red plastic body, chrome-look headlights and hubcap details. Removable front and side panels enable toddler-to-twin conversion; low crib-mattress fit provides built-in guardrail support. Often used as a themed playroom focal piece when not in use.
