you must let it sit for 24 - 48 hrs. i did 24 hrs and thought it was a little warm  laying on it. but 2nd night, no issue, no smell and expanded to 4 inch thickness. three night niw and all good. adjusted straps correctly  so they dont slide up / off.

I had the best nights sleep I have had in a very long time. We used this on our RV mattress. It was easy to put on. It did take a day and a half to expand to its full potential . The mattress pad was so comfortable. Woke up and nothing ached! I felt like an old lady telling all my friends and family how awesome my new mattress pad was. I recommend 100%

Best nights sleep!

What a fabulous addition to our mattress! This mattress topper is 100% luxury! It has improved the quality of our sleep  tremendously, so much so that from the first night, we slept longer. Love it! We went from experiencing a really firm mattress to enjoying absolute comfort! We bought the 3 inch king size and it fits nicely, secured by the corner straps. I highly recommend this product!

Luxury Topper Does Not disappoint

It is so comfortable, it molds around your body leaving no pressure points. I have had five spinal surgeries and this mattress topper has given me more comfort than anything else. I also appreciate the straps so it stays in position. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone who has problems with body pain.

I LOVE IT

Made a too hard mattress very comfortable. I got twin xl for my side of the king size bed since hubby liked the firm mattress. I took it out of the cover and left in a ventilated room for several hours to expand. There was no noticeable odor. It is firm and supportive and very comfy, not so soft that I sink in. When placed right under the sheet it felt cool although I later placed it under the mattress pad and no longer as cool. The 2” gel memory foam topper in a zippered case is a great value for the price.

2” gel memory foam topper is comfy

This mattress is an exact fit for and it is so soft when you lay on it, it feels like you're laying on a cloud. When I first lay on it on my back, I can feel it stretching my back out for where it gets rid of all of the pain and then I can fall asleep and the next more when I wake up, let's all go soft when you lay on it, it feels like you're laying on a cloud. I would definitely buy it again. I would recommend it to anyone if you're looking for something to take your pain away. Definitely get this mattress if I could give it to stars, I would.

Now I'm only giving this 4 stars right now because I haven't slept on it yet. But after reading reviews, good and bad, I decided to order it to help relieve pain at night and when waking up  from a spinal injury, fibromyalgia and ankylosing spondylitis. 
I saw a lot of reviews complaining about thickness, , length, wrinkles etc. I received mine, opened it, and laid it on top of my mattress. It was about a quarter inch thick and had a deep crease in the middle from being packaged. I have an adjustable split king, so I ordered a twin xl 4”. I went back up 2 hours later to check on it, it was completely flat and smooth, and fully “inflated” and my room is only about 67°. Length and width wise, it fits perfectly, even the depth of the corner straps are adjustable and my sheets fit over this perfectly. 
I have a feeling that many people who complained didn't read the booklet that came with it about giving it time to breathe and that temperature can have an effect on how long it takes. 
I'll come back after I've slept on it for a bit and tell you if my bed has gone from being my enemy to my best friend.

Very happy so far

The mattress straps will not stay put. It shifts all time I have to push it back from front of my bed. It sinks in where Im laying. I have the 3 inch mattress. It is rwin size and sits on top of my other twin mattress. I won't be buying or recommend it.

Slips and you sink into mattress

I was so frustrated when I realized that this topper was NOT A REAL gel foam topper. I immediately knew it was a fake topper bcuz it was so light (even though it was a twin lx size). I've a few twin size gel foam toppers and they're always heavier than this light topper. This topper slides around like crazy but real gel foam toppers don't slide around. 
I should know what I'm talking about bcuz since 2014 I've had gel foam toppers. I've ended up buying 3 of my grandkids gel foam toppers. And, I even bought myself a queen foam mattress with gel foam in it in 2021 that I loved.
SO... when I bought this topper I was so frustrated when I realized this topper was NOT REAL gel foam. I've been visiting with my grandson so I bought a twin size bed for his guest room so I good be comfortable while visiting with him. But, I bought a hard mattress (that was advertised as medium firm). So, I bought this topper BUT it goes flat and I'm on the hard mattress where I'm flipping %26 flopping all night, and the topper slides around. And, my hips %26 ribs hurt in the morning. 
THEN... after 2 weeks this topper ended up being torn around where my hips are. So, it's being returned now. 
This topper is NOT A REAL gel foam topper. This is a scam!!! I would never recommend anyone buying this fake foam topper.

NOT REAL gel foam.

Moves while sleeping on it.  Body leaves impresdions ivernight with long rebound time.  In the night you realize youre in a foam hole that you cant get out of.  Aweful.  Returns only if you can repackage it, and nobody can put a foam mattress cover back in any  package .

Horrible.  And only returnable if you put it back
