I really wanted to stick with Tassimo, but was getting concerned as I was running dangerously low on my stash of the "other" extra bold flavors no longer carried. My wife just brought home a pack of Gevalia Dark Italian Roast today, and I dropped what I was doing, ripped into the package, and brewed my first cup. I was immediately rewarded with the pleasant, bold aroma and flavor I was hoping for. I can't wait to try the other extra bold flavors, but frankly, I would be totally, totally happy to drink this Dark Italian Roast every day! If it tells you anything about how good this coffee is, this is the first review I've ever written about anything! THANK YOU GEVALIA and Tassimo! Love the price, too! Bravissimo!

I've actually subscribed to this item because I fear running out of it.  With a self-grind drip maker, a French press, a Nespresso, and a keurig, I have lots of options for making coffee, and yet this is the one I use most often.  The flavour of the Gevalia is every bit as good as you'd expect: very rich and bold and the scent while it's brewing can drive a coffee-lover wild with anticipation.   I'm not sure how these pods compare in cost to other varieties, but frankly, it's so good I really don't care. Highly recommended.

Best pod available

This is a welcome addition to the collection. It is a dark roast, though not bitter; and I recommend it as a stronger morning coffee, though not a bold after-dinner brew. For the latter, I suggest Carte Noir Voluptuoso Classic or Corsé; or, one of the Espressos (Maestro Lorenzo or Gevalia).

A fine taste

I've always bought light roast but so far I have been dissappointed with the lighter roasts available for the Tassimo. So I decided to take the plunge and buy an extra dark roast... It took me a few days to get used too, but now I'm in love with it! It is very bold but it doesn't taste bitter or burnt like some of the other coffees I've bought. It's also a very smooth and smells great. I highly recommend even if you are used to light roasts.

My New Favorite!

After owning a Keurig for 5 years and having my Tassimo for only a few weeks I can say this is one of the best cups of coffee I have had from these brewers. It has a rich full flavor that keeps you wanting more when you sip up that last drop!

I love extra bold coffee's but I think even those who like something a little lighter might even enjoy the taste of this. I drink mine black with some sugar and it is just outstanding.

Man am I happy I departed ways with my Keurig!

Best Single Serve Cup of Coffee!

All of the new EXTRA BOLD coffees are delicious. They are dark but not bitter. I was so worried I would have to toss my Tassimo get the 'other' one cup coffee maker because I could never find a good rich bold coffee. I am completely satisfied now.

I am so relieved Tassimo finally has figured out what we want!

Dark Italian from Gevalia best of the range Tassimo

This and the other extra bold coffees are fantastic. However, you advertise that they will fill a 12oz cup, NOT TRUE. I had ordered a new 12oz cup just for these and what a disappontment when they did not even come close.
This is still the best tasting stuff around, but someone at your company needs to get a new measuring cup. I have 2 machines and they both produce the same amount from each disk.

Great taste, but......

When I got the email announcement that there were some new large pour bold coffees added to the lineup I was stoked and ordered three of them, namely Gevai Dark Italian Roast, Gevalia Dark House Blend, and Gevalia Dark Breakfast Blend . The flavour in every one of them is just what I think of as an excellent American coffee.

But I really am extremely disappointed in that all three only provide a 8 ounce pour and not the 11 ounce pour advertised on the Tassimo website and on the actual packaging.

I recommend the coffees for there quality taste but be advised about the mis-information about the size of the serving.

Great coffee but not a large pour as advertised

Apparently, all of the discs received in this order were mis-labeled with respect to the brew code Bar code). ALL of them brewed as if the contents was Espresso, yielding only about 1/3 of a standard cup. Very frustrating! I could make an eight cup pot of coffee in my coffe maker before my single-serve Tassimo could make a single full cup, as I have to run them through 3-4 times to get a full cup. Where's the quality control? I don't know if its Tassimo or Gevalia, but one of you needs to correct this problem! I bought six pkgs of Gevalia Italian Roast and am very disappoint ted in the result. Someone told me I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE KUERIG...I GUESS THEY WERE RIGHT!!
