There are scratches all over the places at the bottom only after a few times normal usage. I only use silicone utensils to cook on this Dutch oven per instruction. The enamel coating is not even. Not recommend it. Will return it.

The enamel coating is well done and makes this dutch oven easier to clean than plain cast iron. This is especially useful for dishes like baked beans or chili, which tend to remove the seasoning from plain cast iron.

Well Made

This is the second Tramontina Enameled Cast-Iron cookware I purchased. It is amazing dutch oven. I can put all my components in it pop it in the oven for 40 minutes, turn of the oven and it will keep it warm till I can get it out. Even heat, hold heat for an hour after cooking in it. Also, is well made and great looking.

100% Satisfied

I looked at a lot of cast iron Dutch Ovens and settled on the 3.5 qt Tramontina.  Washed and dried the pot and cooked Chili Colorado to perfection.  Why spend $350 on a La Cruset unless you just want the name.  This DO certainly does the job.  Pot was delivered 3 days early and just in time for great Winter chili.

Just the proper size

Can use on any type of cook-top.  I have a finicky induction cook-top and cast iron cookware is inexpensive and heavy enough so that it does not slide around making it hard to stir the pot.  I proof bread and bake bread in this dutch oven, make all types of food, and tested it with scrambled eggs.  If you season the edge, and make sure to brush or spray a light coat of any oil, warm the pot at least to 170° on my induction cook-top (low flame if using gas cook-top) before putting food in it then nothing not even scrambled eggs stick in mine.  I do not add oil to my meats or the pot before cooking.  I just preheat to 170° on my induction cook-top add meat then NEVER go higher than 220° use a  infrared or no-contact thermometer.  If your meat (chicken,  bacon, or beef) sticks a little add a few tablespoons of water under the meat rub the water in, lower your heat, and you won't have dry tasting meat or stuck on reside to scrub off.

Not for High Temp

Good product, cooks great, easy to clean.  It's iron so it's heavy.  Can simmer food on low for hours without burning.  Love it.

Great Pot

I bought this crock specifically to bake my Artisan Bread in. It works wonderful. My bread has a beautiful crust and tender crumb. I haven't used it for cooking but expect it to work just fine. Love, love the color.

Excellent heat retention, good enameling (inside and outside), tight fitting lid. Every bit as good as the $279.00 3.5 qt Le Creuset dutch oven at < $40.00 incl taxes.
