I never actually used them for upholstery but like their look and found many other practical uses for them.  For some reason this type of tack is not that easy to locate anymore.   I was very happy to find some at online Walmart.

Nice and sharp

These are pretty and would work best on furniture other than a recliner. The up and down motion tends to loosen them. We tried to tack down furniture covers on the recliners but they aren't long enough to stay put for very long.
