I purchased a new 2020 Ram 3500 last year, and I am planning on keeping it for at least the next twenty years. When I started researching motor oils, Valvoline Premium Blue, features the Cummins approval specification for my new truck's 6.7. And I was a little surprised that Ram recommend Shell and not Valvoline. But it pays to do your research.

First time user

I have been using Valvoline engine oil for the last 35 plus years, and will use nothing but Valvoline oils, when I worked for Cummins back in the late 80's I heard about the Valvoline premium brand and you can feel the difference between the premium brand, and conventional oils and when I bought my 2017 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins I knew what oil I was going to use, also when Valvoline offered the full synthetic that was even better, using Fleetguard filters and Valvoline filters This engine will last forever.

Best oil for your Engine

Best oil. In my opinion. I get great gas mileage. I like the anti wear protection on cold start up. Really gives me peace of mind. I really miss the 5 gallon bucket of it though. I can't seem to find it anywhere! Bring it back please! I loved having a enough for one oil change, then forgetting that I had it untill the next service interval then realizing I had enough in the shop for another service!
