When I was replacing roofs, I purchased a total of 4 of these for 2 of my houses. The roofers did the roof part and I installed the inside myself. As a female I found it incredibly easy, but I am a diy girl.  In my house, my kitchen is now bright and beautiful. My living room, well it was my placement of it that i wish i would have changed, because of my attic walking space, but it still gives a lot of light into the dark side of my living room.  We hardly turn on any lights now.  At my other house we are coming down to the 1st floor, but wish there was an add on or small section that could be added to the tunnel itself to add just a bit of light to the hallway upstairs. The tube will be covered, not visible but would love to have just a small bit of that natural light to come thru there as well.  Love my lights

We just replaced three old sun tunnels that were installed prior to us moving into our home over 20 years ago (two 14 inch flexible tunnels in the living room and one 10 inch rigid tunnel in the guest bathroom with 24 inch extension). We bought them through Home Depot and had them professionally installed. We love the new sun tunnels so much that we added one more 14 inch flexible to our newly remodeled kitchen. The three 14 inch sky tunnels are in vaulted ceilings and the 10 inch bathroom tunnel goes through the attic. I love the inside trim that is flush to the ceiling giving it a much more finished look than the old ones. I don't see any hardware from the inside through the plastic moulding. The exterior low profile flashing looks great as well. I love the bright sunlight coming into our home and I don't think the natural light is blue like other reviews have stated. We are very satisfied and will enjoy these new skylights for many years to come.

Installed four Sun Tunnels

Bought 4 flexible tunnels 10 years ago when we had the roof done on our mid-century modern tri-level. LOVE THEM so much that I kicked myself for not doing 2 more in the upstairs hallway. Now that we have to have the roof done again (no relation to the presence of nor installation of the tubes), I'm finally getting my 2 upstairs in the dark hallway! I have many people comment on how wonderful they are and how they try to turn off the light. Is it possible to buy just the ring cover? I broke one when we renovated the laundry room & would like to replace it.

I had 4 Velux units installed 14-years ago, and they have been excellent.  I also have 3-Solatubes (in-place when we purchased), and the Velux Sun Tubes are equally as bright. In fact, the Velux tubes disperse light throughout the room better.  I have had many visitors ask why I have my lights on during the day :).  Yes, they're that bright!   Mine are beginning to shows signs of age (cracking), and I'll need to replace the domes.  For those who experienced low-light and/or a blue hue:  I had the same issue when first installed.  We had the tubes switched for rigid from the flex tubes and the problem was solved.  I think the rigid must "funnel" the light more directly versus the many folds of the flex tubing.  Try making the change and you might have better results.

I just finished installing our fourth light 
We started out with two but it's becoming an addiction
The difference it has made to our home is astounding 
I have a construction background but anyone with reasonable skills and YouTube should be able to manage
I would recommend this product to anyone that asks

I thought I loved our home but wow!

We installed the Sun Tunnel in an interior bathroom on our second floor. It was so easy to install. It is mounted on the north's side of our roof under a large shade tree and I am amazed at how much light it provides. I continually come upstairs and think someone left the light on in the bathroom. It makes the bathroom better, but also changes the dynamic of the hallway, making it so much more open and inviting.

Better than expected

I am very disappointed with the reveal/mount of this product. It's made of clear plastic so you can see the screws and just looks cheap. We had Solatube in our previous home and they were much nicer in terms of design (opaque white trim and nice diffusion of light). I would recommend Solatube over Velux if you have a choice.

I had two rigid 14" sun tunnels added into my studio with the hope that light would flood the room.  I have a Solatube in my interior stairway, and literally, the difference was like night and day.  I'm hoping that if I switch out the diffuser, more light will come in, because right now, while it looks like a light is on when you look at the unit, none of that light really reaches into the room.  I am really quite disappointed.  I have spent quite a while looking for information about the different options of diffusers, but nothing differentiates them. 
I love Velux skylights and have added over a dozen to my home, but I think they need to work on their sun tunnels. No real light filters into the room.  I have a different brand in my hallway, and it is flooded with light.  I think they need to work on their diffuser which seems to be blocking any light from penetrating into the room: I have two in a 10x12 room and it's like they're not even there.

Had my 14” Velux flexible tube sun tunnels installed 4 years ago. Now removing popcorn ceiling and thought I would take down to remove bugs but meanwhile insulation has fallen between the glass layers and I can't get it out. Looks much worse than before. HELP. Hate to think I will have to hire someone to take them out to clean, or to buy replacement glass every time they get dirty. Please tell me how to address this. I see other reviews have same issue but saw no solutions showing. Please help or should I just replace whole thing? In which case I would investigate other sources. I have recommended this product in past but not now.

Bugs and dirt

I have had these sun tunnels for 9 years; I love the sun in my dark kitchen and hallway, but they are a pain to take apart, clean, and put back together!  Bugs gather inside the tunnels, visible from below, and unsightly.  Taking the frame off (twisting it) and replacing it is a nightmare.  The design is ridiculous.  There must be a better way to take these apart and replace (magnets, perhaps?)  I need advice on how to update these or replace them.  I would not recommend them as they are.  I would appreciate someone contacting me from the Velux company, coming out to visit me and see for themselves what I am dealing with.  Thank you.
