I purchased this for my 25 year old son, as he had been using 2 mattresses (no box spring) sitting on the floor temporarily. What a difference this frame made! Now he just has 1 mattress on the frame, and not using a box spring. I did purchase a bed skirt, as the steel legs make it sort of look like a cot....the bed skirt covers the legs completely, and it looks great! I was leery prior to purchasing it since it said it doesn't require a box spring, but it actually doesn't! It supports the mattress completely, is very sturdy, and there really is no need for a box spring if you don't want one. I was just trying to get a "quick fix" without spending a ton of money, until he can purchase a new bed set, but now he may not need one since this frame works so well with the mattress. :) I thought it would need to be assembled, but it's very minimal and I wouldn't even consider it "assembly". All you need to do is pull out the legs and attach the 2 bars with the nuts and bolts already there...took just a couple of minutes and it was set up!

I'm a 70 year old woman and had this frame assembled with 20 minutes!  It is extremely sturdy.  I, also, bough the Slumber 1 by Zinus Pressure Relief Hybrid 10" Mattress.  The combination works beautifully.  When getting in and out of the bed or turning from side to side, no slipping or noises.  I would definitely recommend this frame.

VERY STURDY!

I have a $1000 mattress that does not require the use of a box spring and was looking for a frame. I did not want to buy a wooden frame as I am buying new furniture for the bedroom and am unsure as to what wood, color etc.. I will be buying. This offered and inexpensive way to use my mattress on
The ease of setting it up was phenomenal I had it together in minutes. .You can store underneath it. I used a quilt that covers the legs and with throw pillows on top it looks great. You can easily move it to vacuum under it and most importantly it feels great to sleep on it!

Great frame for a mattress without box springs.

Before making my purchase I read most of the reviews on this product. I have to say from personal experience that the frame is worth the money. When you first see the frame it looks as if it is cheaply made however once you set it up you realize it is well constructed. As for people who have the issue of their mattress sliding around I suggest the liner that you can put in you cabinets to keep that from happening it has worked wonders for me. A bed skirts is recommended as well unless you like being able to see what you store under your bed. I placed a 12 inch mattress on the frame and enjoy the height that both offer. I am a rather large person as is my significant other we both toss and turn some nights and have yet to experience any sounds or breakage in the frame. I am including a picture of my bed once I had it completely set up and made.

1.) Would be a much better bed frame if it would have come with casters so that it could be more easily moved to be able to run a vaccuum throughouit the whole bedroom. Cannot find casters in local stores to fit the legs of this bed.
Casters need to be heavy duty enough to hold a lot of weight (up to 500 to 1,000 lbs) depending on which size frame is purchased.
2.) Also it would be nice to have a small edge around the top of the frame that has a rubber or plastic cover to keep it from tearing the mattress or box spring, to hold the mattress or box spring in place.
3.) Would also like to see it have rubber covers on the bottoms of each and every of the legs to avoid any of the legs from scratching a hard wood floor or tiled floor.

This is a great height frame for those people who have health issues that make it difficult for them to get up and down easily.

Three Suggestion to make it better

after reading the reviews i thought this product would be worth the money.

this bed frame is TERRIBLE. I am a 120 pound 5'2 girl whenever i make any kind of movement it creaks and squeeks and is just terrible.

not happy one bit. I feel like am just sleeping on the floor. I wake up sore and in pain.

HATE IT

I was really excited about getting this bed frame that would keep me from having to buy box springs in addition to the frame. I'll admit, I'm a heavy person. It holds me up so that's good. Unfortunately that's all the good I can say about my experience so far. Every morning I'm waking up with severe back pain. I feel like I've been sleeping directly on the frame rather than a mattress. So, it may be a good buy for those who are lighter weight. If you're heavy, not a good choice.

Very disappointed.

These metal bed frames (in general) don't ship well. I ordered this product (site-to-store) and when I brought it home I noticed that one of the sections was severely damaged. I returned it and ordered the competitor's slightly more expensive option from Walmart. That one was also damaged while shipping (in the same fashion). The manufacturers of these bed frames should place more protective padding in the packaging to prevent this from happening.

Damaged Frame (twice in a row)

I wasn't aware that the front and back end legs are not set at a 90 degree angle instead they slant slightly more which makes the bed move a lot and unstable. If the slants are out the bed rocks back and forth due to the only stable legs being the middle four.

Legs not Sturdy

As I'm sure we all do at some point, I had hoped this product would work well for me.

Having to replace my wooden bed frame quickly after a great night, I decided this would hold up well and cost at least half of the price I had anticipated, and while the cost was excellent, I just can't use the product.

As a platform bed, I had expected to use this as I had my previous platform, with my mattress on top, bed-style.

Turns out that the metal of the frame is too prominent and I could feel it through the tempur-pedic mattress, it was so bad after three nights I began having back spasms and banished the frame to my guest room, where the conventional mattress has an accompanying box spring. I feel betrayed by this product, it would've been one thing if it were shoddy craftsmanship or design, but this couldn't fulfill its basic function.

I'd return it if I still had the box.
