Our Quebec-raised AA+ beef strip loin has been aged 21 days for tenderness and flavour, before being vacuum packed to seal in the goodness. Genuinely a high quality beef that has been well aged.  I was raised on a farm and I buy this!

Salted both sides 30 to 40 minutes before cooking; patted dry and added to a cold, nonstick pan set on medium-high; turned every one and a half to two minutes until lightly seared then turned down heat to medium/medium low; continued to turn every one to two minutes until nicely seared/crusted and desired doneness reached - used a meat thermometer. Let the meat rest for 5 minutes or so before cutting. 

It was thoroughly enjoyable with nothing more than the salt added before cooking. Went well with mashed potatoes and the steak juices on my dinner plate

Costs

I'm all for buying local, but only if the price is competitive and the quality is as high as elsewhere, which is sadly too often not the case. This, however, fits the bill on both counts. If it remains so, I will definitely be purchasing this suggestively named steak again.

Dear producers of Quebec, Do you know the fable of the hen with golden eggs? You were lucky that Walmart distributes your steak, which I bought last year leaving the evaluation that you offer a good value for money, and that I encourage you, producers of our country. So, what did you do? This year you raised the price of a third. That's called shooting yourself in the foot, so don't come whine afterwards that your steaks are not selling well or that we sulk local producers. Sincerely, A Quebecer
