It's still really good eye shadow just like a decade ago but I will say I miss the packaging. The packaging now is my opinion is cheap and ugly unfortunately.

Great pallet with only Matte colors

walmart.com

This palette isn't perfect, but you can create some absolutely beautiful looks with it. My personal favorite is the mustardy color second from the left combined with the green in the crease. Simply gorgeous and blends in a lovely way. There is a little fallout etc., but for the price you cannot beat it!

Gorgeous possibilities

elfcosmetics.com

I bought this as a consolation because rose gold was sold out and ended up loving it. The lighter colors benefit greatly from the use of a primer or a shadow base, and the darkest two or three do have some fallout, but overall it's such a great quality palette and I couldn't be happier with it! Goes on creamy, blends well, very buildable, and unlike most of my palettes, there's no color I haven't used.

My Go-To

I don't generally do eyeshadow, I would normally just stick with an eyeliner, but I decided to branch out and this palette was a great choice to learn with. The texture is very soft and velvety and it doesn't feel like I have anything on once its applied. Plus there's way less fallout than other eyeshadows I've used. It blended pretty easy considering how bad I am at blending. While the colours aren't super pigmented they DO build up, so for someone like me who needs a more forgiving palette, this is awesome. I could see why some people might not like the pigmentation, but the blending and texture were great to me. And it also lasted pretty well for me, but I don't need super long lasting eye makeup.

Awesome for this beginner!

I bought the Mad for Matte palette maybe a year or two ago and since then I've also purchased and used all similar elf eye shadow palettes (Need it Nude, Rose Gold, and Prism) and this one is hands down my favorite. No, there is no shimmer or shine and yes, all of the shadows are matte.

I pair it with elf primer and elf mist & set spray (another product I can't live without now!) and it lasts me the entire day. It does not come with any makeup tools (such as brushes).

The colors give me a more natural look that can still be very alluring without being overwhelming. I use almost every color depending on what matches most with my outfit that day aside from the grey that's second from the right. I will say that the black on the right could be a bit more pigmented, but sometimes I layer it on top of pencil eyeliner to fade it out and add a thinner, more refined gel liner on top of it.

Favorite Palette

OMG this is the pallet that I have been dreaming of!!! These shadows are so smooth and buttery (except for the dark blue) and blend like a dream. Even though the blue shadow is kinda stiffer but it is a BEAUTIFUL shade of blue on the eye. My favorite shade of the pallet is the grey!!! Great shade to wear on the lid!!! Now what I would like to have is this same pallet come out in non matte shades and be just the same formulation as these are!!!

FINALLY!!!

OMG! This Pallet is my "Go To Pallet", is it Crazy to say I even Love the Mirror LOL! Yes. In this Picture I'm wearing the Purple Shade with the Elf Black Eyeliner.

PS. I'd Love for Elf to make a "All Green Pallet", with different shades of Green. I'd So LOVE THAT

Love it

This palette is just so beautiful. All shades are nice and pigmented. I don't see lots of fall out on my face. It is perfect for smokey eyes as is the name ;) Holy Smokes. I love all shades and used the black, the two browns and the blue for a cleopatra makeup tutorial for my channel on YouTube. I just love it... and highly recommend it. It is worth every penny especially if you like matte looks. Hope you found my review helpful... Thanks for reading...

very nice value

Out of the 10 shades, there is only one that I enjoy (the 5 in the palette) and 3 that are decent and can be worked with (4,6,7). The rest of the matte shades are patchy and not pigmented at all, whilst the rest of the shimmer shades have PLENTY of fallout and don adhere to the lid. Had high hopes for the product and became deeply disappointed. All the shades unless the ones I mentioned blend out to nothing.
As for the swatches, please bear in mind that some were swatched several times in order for the color to be visible (mainly the 1, 2, 8 and 10th shade).

Nice shade selection, Poor quality.

Got my order today. I bought 2 eyeshadow palettes: need it nude and everyday smoky. They look like twins. For a second I thought I ordered the wrong thing. The colours are not what's displayed here. 2of the shadow blocks have already fallen out of the case. Btw, orders to Canada are charged 14dollars for custom fee vs $5 you advised at shipping section. Very disappointed
