I really love salted caramel so i definitely wanted to try these cakes. It was really good paired with my coffee! It has just the right amount of icing and its not too sweet. I will be trying the other flavors too!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I personally was not the biggest fan of these, they felt/tasted very artificial. The flavouring wasn't all that great and a little on the stale side, perhaps not actually stale just not that great texture wise.

Mr. Kipling Salted Caramel Sponge Cake Slices were picked as my free sampling. Each two-bite piece was like eating an underdone batter of sugar, flour and vegetable oil. Back before non-stick bakeware, Mom would grease and flour coat her cake tins when baking sponge cakes. After they cooled and got turned out, I would get to use a spatula to scrape the sweet oily flour and batter residue that stayed in the pan. That is what this stuff tastes like but -- on purpose. Unlike childhood days, I want my sweets to taste of the highest quality to justify the caloric intake. Too oily, too sickly sweet without distinct flavour or pleasant mouth feel. A poster child for empty calories.

I found this cake extremely sweet. I could taste more the sugar flavour than the actual caramel flavour. If you need a sugar rush, this cake is for you!
