I used this in my newborn's room and when I took some toys out to play, I found that the paint from this product had peeled off onto my toys and ruined them. This obviously made me very concerned about the safety of the product, as I obviously am not going to have my child playing with these toys, and got rid of the storage bin. 
When I reached out to the company, they told me that it was my fault and I shouldn't have put blocks (and certain toys) in it, and that the paint had a "chemical reaction" with my toys.
FYI, the paint also peeled onto fabric toys and stained them.
Would nit use this product!!!
