I was a little worried when it looked a little blue processing but it is indeed black. As you can see it covered my grey 💯. No damage, dryness or loss of shine. Easy to follow directions. It has been a couple weeks since I colored and no fading as of yet.

It left my hair so silky smooth and the black color came out completely black and went over my old hair dye. It doesn't have an overwhelming  chemical smell like some dye has. It doesn't hurt or hurt my skin or scalp. I have sensitive skin and I had zero issues. It came with a little comb to help with coloring. A shampoo that you don't get anywhere else. And a conditioner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was nervous that the color would be too bright after seeing the color on the box, but it turned out to be a beautiful light auburn, not as brassy as the box shows. I almost took a star off because the picture on the box was misleading. It was easy to apply with the comb-type attachment on the bottle. After approximately a month, the color hasn't faded and is still beautiful. I would use this again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love love love the color that this gave me. It's a nice thick formula, so it wasn't derpy when I used it. The color stayed exactly where I put it. The conditioner that it came with left my hair feeling very soft. This also came with a toning shampoo which most at home coloring kits don't. This kit left my hair a shiny gorgeous blonde! 10/10 recommend.   It was so easy to use!

This product didn't seem a thick in consistency as others I have purchased from Loreal.  The smell was fine. It didn't seem to moisturize my hair or make it shiny as others I used either. At first, I did not like the color at all. It was a dull almost black color. After a couple washes it lightened up and you could then see the maple, slight reddish color come out.
After using my regular shampoo and mousse product it has become shinier. And I do like the color now. I have been out in the sun a lot lately and there are more reddish highlights coming out, which I like.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Dark Brown Creme Excellence hair color from Loreal is amazing.  It is so easy to use. The packaging is labeled to ensure no confusion while mixing. It doesn't have an overpowering smell when you are applying.  It goes on easy and one box was plenty for my shoulder length hair. I had quite a few whites and greys near my temples and sprinkled throughout my hair, but it covered fabulously. It rinses out quickly. The conditioner provided left my hair silky, smooth, and so soft. It's definitely my go to brand when I need to cover my "age" lol

So easy to use at home, but professional quality results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Excellence by Loreal for years off and on. The 6a light ash brown blends in so well. It work good at  my wisdom streaks coverage.I would and have recommended Excellence by Loreal at home hair dye to my family and friends. I like inches box gives you an added product as a pre treatment for ends of hair. The dye isn't smelly. The conditioner has a good acent. This product leaves hair feeling soft tangled free.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just ok but I felt like the color was a bit drab. Smell was strong and took a lot to rinse it out. I felt like it got darker the next day. Maybe I did not rinse well enough.

Not my favorite

I am extremely dissatisfied and angry. My hair was light brown / medium blonde, and after using L’Oréal Excellence Crème 6.1 it turned nearly black. This is completely misleading and unacceptable. The color result does not match the shade shown on the box at all. Very disappointing from such a well-known brand.
