This dye is slightly strong scent during application, but it covers gray hair excellently. It leaves my hair a little dry but that’s fine, my hair still looks okay.

I've never tried to superior preference until now I love the color coverage. The application was very easy. Left a very nice shine to my hair the conditioner that was attached to it even left my hair very soft after Coloring it. I definitely recommend using L'Oreal hair color.

Have been using this color in the summers for years. I'm a natural redhead (strawberry blonde) and now I must cover my grey. Sadly, one can never get their natural color from a box, but this color comes close. I go to the 6R for winter and love that shade. I have used the 6R for low lights and 9GR for highlights with this color.

It came out nice I was amazed by the way it shined, and smelt and mostly the color of the dye. She is very pleased with the outcome of this product great color. I definitely recommend L'Oreal semi permanent hair dye this might be our new hair dye brand from now on. The color is very natural looking if you are in that kind of style were it looks purely natural. I do want to add that the smell of the chemicals are pretty strong so for your protection and others I recommend wearing a mask and doing it in a vented area.

OMG! Disasterous! So this colour was meant for people who have naturally dark hair (mine WAS dark brown). The box specfically tells you that it is meant to make darker hair the lighter shade on the box. WELL it sure did make it lighter, ORANGE AND RED TONES EVERYWHERE! My hair turned out to be a straweberry blond/ auburn colour. Just awful! So, I called Loreal and they told me that it was because my hair had natural red pigment(quite odd since it had a beige blond shine in the sunlight and my kids have dirty blond hair!!). Anyway, they sent me certifcates for color corrections. Which was nice, and suggested I use Natural Light Ash Brown 6A. I waited a few weeks (with a pumpkin head) because my hair become quite brittle. So, it did tone down the red/ orange, slightly, still very much on the orangy, reddy dark blond side. (like the dark blond and medium amber brown in the superior line) Hey, if that is what you are looking for and your hair was VIRGIN Dark/medium brown to begin with, then there you have it! If you expected the colour and the box IT WONT WORK!! My hair lost its elaticity and softeness after all the dye. Now I am waiting at least 3 months before I attemp to dye it back to my natural color.

I LOVE THIS COLOR! I am a "dishwater" blonde, trying to cover grays, who has been coloring my own hair for 2 years now with Clairol Nice & Easy Med Neutral Blonde. I was bored & wanting a change. My blonde was getting too solid & yellow. This product looked very appealing & after some research decided to give it a try. Fantastic color! It took away the "yellow" & replaced it with a beautiful warm honey rose color just like the name implies. It gave me a luminous highlights as well. I was concerned with the "rose" it might be too brassy, but that's NOT the case at all. I get compliments ALL the time. PLEASE don't discontinue this color!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used L’Oreal Paris Preference Superior Fade-Defying Shine Permanent Hair Color in Ultimate Black, and it worked really well. The application was easy, though the smell was strong. The color came out deep, rich black with great gray coverage and a nice shine. It faded very little over the weeks, which I loved. The downside? It did dry my hair a bit, so I had to use a deep conditioner. Also, it stains skin fast, so be careful during application. Would I use it again? Yes! It’s a solid, long-lasting black dye that delivers on color and shine.
