I have super long hair and always need at least two boxes, but there was so much product that I actually could have gotten away with just using one box — something I could never imagine doing before. However, the ammonia smell was overwhelming and burned my eyes, and the no drip formulation was misleading. This was probably the messiest, smelliest hair dye I’ve ever used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] L'Oréal Paris preference permanent hair color is a brand I trust for consistent results and its easy to use, the directions are clear and straight forward whether your coloring just your roots or your whole head. I didn't notice any damage compared to others I've tried and my hair is more shiny. Everything you need to color your hair is included color, developer and a nice softening luxurious conditioner to use immediately after coloring and they give you enough extra to continue conditioning your hair, I use it once a week for several weeks, it makes my hair super soft and easy to comb out. The new floral scent of this hair color is much better than what's to be expected when you dye your hair, great improvement, I liked the scent it's an improvement. I got pretty even results, any part that didn't cover well was user error on my part, the product itself offers great coverage even on my gray hairs, just be sure to saturate all your hairs, I missed a few. I can't believe it I'm a natural blonde again and can't be any happier with the results, thank you L'Oréal paris. It did leave an ammonia smell in the hair for a very long time. But the color has not fadeven several weeks into the coloring. China's nice did not dry the hair out too much. If you use this just to color your roots. There will be a lot of waste of product.

They have really toned down the smell that these at home kits used to have. Not so harsh. My hair looks shiny and smooth after dying. The only problem that I have is that this shade should really come with a toning conditioner instead of the aftercare deep conditioner that it has. I received this product from Influenster in exchange for my honest opinion.

This dye did have a strong scent but that should be expected with most hair dyes so that was not a problem for me at all. The packaging is nice and the steps were very clear and easy to follow. This dye did not leave my hair feeling dry at all and actually left it feeling very soft and silky!! If you’re looking for a dye to try i’d recommend trying some from this brand!!

Applying is super easy and barely has a strong scent. Definitely covers your grey for up to 6 weeks !
