[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First things first.... I'm a black woman in my 20s and I wear my hair in its natural state. Over the past three years, I've noticed that my hair (and scalp) are noticeably dry whenever I go to maintain or style it. So the two main components I search for when buying my products are one that can get my scalp clean AND put plenty of moisture back into my tresses. Usually when I go to buy hair care products, I find that I have to sacrifice one for the other. I can get a shampoo that hydrates, but it wont clean my scalp of product build up and general nastiness. If I find a shampoo that leaves my scalp squeaky clean, it usually strips my entire head of all moisture it had. So over the years, I've been getting frustrated. Now, as a black woman with natural hair, I can say that I always skip over Herbal Essence at the store because in my head I always assumed their products were not geared toward women of color. After reading the shampoo bottle of the bio:renew Coconut Milk, I felt a little at ease, but I still figured I would be sacrificing one of my two shampoo necessities. When I opened my bottle and dispensed the shampoo, it smelled AMAZING. But a lot of products are filled with fragrances and still don't work. I usually have to wash my hair in sections, so as I started my wash routine, as I scrubbed my scalp and rinsed, I could see the dirt running from my hair as I rinsed the shampoo out. To be safe, I washed each section (four total) twice. Once I stepped from the shower and parted my hair across my head, I clearly saw that my scalp was clean. And I had had WEEKS of dirt and product build up (I had a protective style which I had taken down.). Scalp was still clean. And my hair texture is a combination of kinks and curls.... This shampoo didn't damage my curl pattern or anything. As for the hydration... While my hair wasn't dry or completely stripped of all moisture, this shampoo alone did not give me the full hydration that I needed for my hair. Only reason it lost one star. All in all, I'm anxious to try the other product from this new bio:renew line.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the new bio:renew Coconut Milk (Hydrate) Shampoo! I like the design of the bottle: It's easy to grab and keep in your hand (I have very small hands so that can be an issue for me) and the black color makes it feel like a luxurious product. I make it a point to use natural ingredients whenever I can so I love that this product does just that. The shampoo has a distinct yet not overpowering scent and my kids comment on how great my hair smells every time I wash my hair. I didn't give the shampoo five stars because it does weigh down my very fine hair reducing volume at the top of my head, BUT if I lather and wash the shampoo out right away I can eliminate that effect. The shampoo does wonders in other areas: I live in a very dry climate and always deal with frizz. This shampoo is the best I've every used to control frizz and my hair is now soft and shiny. It absolutely lives up to its promise of hydration!! I'll definitely by this shampoo again!

I grabbed my bottle of Herbal Essences Coconut Milk Shampoo not really knowing what to expect. When I opened the bottle, I could smell the wonderful scent of coconut. I absolutely love the way it smells. I poured some into the palm of my hand and noticed how thick and creamy it was. It made a soapy lather in my hair and had the most pleasant smell. It rinsed out of my hair and left the wonderful scent in it. My hair felt soft and looked shiny. I could smell the wonderful smell of coconut throughout my day. After using it for a while, it still leaves a wonderful scent, feel and look to my hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the scent of the bio:renew coconut milk shampoo. The shampoo felt silky in my hair and foamed up well for good coverage during washing. My only small problem is that it doesn't make my hair as smooth as some of my past shampoo.

It comes out so silky feeling and I really am so happy to use this! It definitely is given life back to my hair

It did make my hair feel nice and clean, so for those people without a sensitive sense of smell- this may be a great option for you. For me personally though, I won't ever buy this in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this as a sample, and I love it! It has helped moisturize my hair, and help with tangles. The smell is a little too sweet/strong for my personal preference, but that is easy to get over with the results I got! My hair is softer, and doesn't tangle as bad. It's a great product! I use Function of Beauty Shampoo/Conditioner normally, but will use this as my back-up! I love that it is natural and doesn't have harsh nasty chemicals in it.

It lathers well. It does not leave any residue. It also gives volume and keeps my hair from having static.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always liked Herbal Essence products, partially because I have never met one of their scents that I haven't loved! This one is no exception, the coconut is really inviting and it smells delicious. I usually experience a lot of extra dryness in the winter and I could tell that this was a boost of hydration for my hair, which tamed my frizz and calmed my curls. I am definitely a fan and will continue to use this product. I also thought the packaging was sleek and inviting.
