What is the return policy for Marketplace items?
For Marketplace items related to the categories listed below, please contact the Marketplace seller directly. These items will not be accepted in stores.
- Fuel Powered Equipment
- Dangerous goods (i.e. hazardous materials containing chemicals, compressed gas or liquids which could pose a health or safety risk, etc)
- Oversized or overweight products (i.e. weighing greater than 100 lbs or larger than 40” by 48”, such as but not limited to full-size mattresses and large appliance items, etc)
- Where Items exceed $250 in value
- Where Items are on Recall
- Where Items are reported to cause Bodily Injury or Property Damage
Customers can initiate such returns by reviewing return instructions located on the shipping notification email or contacting Customer Service at 1-800-328-0402 for assistance.
Return Window
Most Marketplace sellers have a minimum return window of 30 days from the date of delivery, with the exception of certain items, which are listed below. Items marked with an asterisk (*) must be returned unopened. Valid proof of purchase must accompany the product in all cases:

Refunds: When you return an item, we will refund the item cost along with any applicable tax and environmental fees. If the product is defective or you received the wrong item, we will also refund the associated shipping charges. Please note that shipping fees are not refundable if the return is due to a change of mind.

Note 3: Personal care items include but are not limited to: feminine care, hands and feet, incontinence, massage and spa, men’s grooming, oral care, hair removal, hair accessories, hair color, hair appliances, personal wash, styling, skincare, deodorants, perfumes, baby needs, care travel kits, face masks, etc.
Note 4: Any food items purchased from Marketplace sellers are considered final sale. Food items may not be returned to Walmart stores or shipped back to sellers. In the event of a seller-fault return reason (i.e. expired item upon arrival, damaged item, incorrect item, etc), please contact the seller directly to request a refund.
Note 5: Unopened Halloween costumes can be returned both in store and direct to seller up until 7 days prior to October 31.
Additional Exceptions
- The return time frame begins from your order delivery date.

- Customers may be required to pay return shipping charges on direct to seller returns.

Items sold by Marketplace sellers and fulfilled by Walmart follow Walmart Canada’s standard Return Policy.
I bought an item from a Marketplace seller on Walmart.ca. Can I return it at a Walmart store?
Yes! For your convenience and peace of mind, eligible Marketplace items can be returned to Walmart stores.

How do I initiate a return for an item sold by a Marketplace seller?
We’re sorry that something didn’t go right! If the item is eligible for a return, please follow the steps below to return it:
In store return:
- Please bring the item(s) along with all the original packaging and materials to the Customer Service desk at your Walmart store. We also require your order number to process the return. Please note, only items valued less than $250.00 CAD are eligible for in store returns. If you wish to return items with a retail price above $250.00 CAD, please reach out to the Marketplace seller directly.
Direct to Seller return:
- Click the “Contact Seller” option in "Purchase History" in your account.
- Select the item(s) you wish to return.
- Select the reason as “Returns".
- Please briefly explain the reason why you would like to return the product.
- Click the “Submit” button.
