THESE bookcases may have been double the cost of the others but they were SOOOOO worth it. They are heavy and sturdy. I moved 25 particle board laminate shelves out of my house that were a wide variety of makes and stain colors. (They had housed thousands of model horses). These new shelves were weightier and better than ANY of the others. The moveable shelves are so thick and strong they would never bow under the weight of heavy books or items. I'll be purchasing more! In addition, they were EZ to put together. Once we completed one, we no longer had to read the instructions.

Bush bookcases are the best!

walmart.com

I've used a number of inexpensive self-assembly shelving in the past and must say this one is the best I've ever used. Material is thicker and lighter and very easy to assemble, and the color matched my maple furniture better than most. Not as good as real wood of course, but a fraction of the price and worth it.

Better than expected

This bookcase is heavier and sturdier than other build-it-yourself bookcases. It actually feels and looks like a real piece of furniture. It took some time to put together because the pieces were heavy, but it really looks and feels wow! I actually just ordered a second bookcase to complete the room.

Beautiful piece of furniture

Great bookcase, and easy to assemble if you take your time. I did it solo in about two and a half hours--I'm female, and moderately mechanical, but not particularly strong. The only tools necessary were a phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. The hardest part about the job was dragging/pushing/maneuvering the *incredibly* heavy box into the living room from the front porch.

For the record, I already have three old 72" self-assembled bookcases from a different company (no idea which, actually) that I've had for nearly twenty years and lugged successfully through three moves, but they are nowhere near the sturdiness/quality of this shelf. This bookcase has ultra-thick, sturdy shelves with rounded edges that give it a classy look, and it's wider and just a bit deeper than the old shelves. It feels more solid. I have it filled with books and it is very attractive. Would definitely recommend--I'm considering buying another one!

Much better quality than expected

Just what I needed to provide extra closet storage. This bookcase is much more substantial that others available in a similar price range. Good value.

Good quality for the price.

I was hesitant to order this bookcase however after it arrived and I assembled it I was very impressed with the quality of the materials. Very sturdy product. It is slightly larger than I realized but it fits perfectly with my other bookcases.

Quality materials

This bookcase is very attractive, and went together well. The shelves on this wide model are extra thick, to stay straight under a heavy load, of books, for example. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Went together nicely; sturdy shelves

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High-quality shelving at a good price. Unit was easy to assemble, with clear and thorough instructions. Shelving seems strong and stable. Glad I found and purchased this product!

Quality Unit!

Bush Home

This took a long time for my son & I to set up. Then, we could not put up three of the shelves, for there were no holes drilled. You need help getting it in the door for it is over 60 lbs. A whole LOT of work is needed for this, so plan your day out. What we have done looks nice.

Allow Time For This !!

Based on the price of this item, i was thinking it would be hardwood but to my surprise it is pressed wood but very thick, so i am hoping it will last long and will hold up for several years. the set up was not too hard alhamdulillah. over all OK

NOT SOLID WOOD!!!!

Love these shelves. They are nicer than others we have had and fill the space we bought them for beautifully. Very easy to put together and we would buy again.
