Paint Quality

Can be smooth, but also rough with imperfections.

Plates have a smooth surface and clean look.

Offers a lower price per pound compared to similar products.

Can be sturdy, but also prone to imperfections.

Paint application can be inconsistent, leading to chipping and coverage issues.

This item seems to be true-to-weight, though I have not weighed it yet. Dimensions are all fairly standard, and it works well on a barbell. The price was its main selling point, though, as other sites priced similar items much higher.

Great Value

walmart.com

Plates fit perfect in 2” machine plate loaded chest pec dec. They're not going to move and stationary. For that reason not too picky on weights. The font does not come out perfect on some weights, can be a little messy with the paint / silver writing but it's just writing. Some plates do have rougher edges than others on the outer rim. They won't be perfect but most important part is the 2” opening ensuring a snug fitment into barbell or machines. Does not affect the weight. Weight is weight. Will buy more in future !

A- will purchaze again in future

Some spurs and minor defects, but overall worth the price paid.

Great for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cheap, good quality.

I'm in it for the 🔥 burn. Who cares if some of the coating chips off a little? The price can not be beat. They come with two weight clips. And the best package📦 arrival—everything was still in the box. I absolutely 😍 love them.

Tremendous. My back is so big now. I am having trouble fitting through my doorframe. Thank you CAP Barbell Gray Olympic Cast Iron Weight Plate, 45 lb.

Tremendous

One of the four weights that I ordered had a jagged edge in the center and another one is not quite flat, but they work, the fit my barbell and those aforementioned quirks really aren't a big deal, particularly given how cheap these weights were when I bought them. I would order these again.

Good enough

Great price! The diameter of the entire plate is about 4 inches bigger than most 45lb plates bit the thickness is about 1 inch less... So, these are great for barbells but will limit the range of motion for dumbbell usage.

not as thick but larger in diameter than most plat

I bought a pair of Cap 45s a few years ago from an exercise equipment store. They were beautifully made and well-finished. I wanted to get another pair, but unfortunately the store went out of business. I had trouble finding another store that carried these plates, but was able to order them online from Walmart. I was very disappointed when I opened the box. They are nowhere near the quality of my old plates. The casting is very rough with a cheap paint job. There were big spots of the silver paint used for the lettering on other parts of the plate. I don't know how it passed inspection like that - it looked awful. To top it off, they now come with a sticker advising you that they contain a substance known to cause cancer and other illnesses. Great.

Disappointing Quality

Ordered 2 25lb plates, first time sent wrong kind of plate (non Olympic), issued replacement, second time sent just 1 Olympic plate (but the box saying 2 plates), and no longer provide the replacement option. Disappointed about the constant mistakes, so much time wasted on waiting, tracking and preparing the returns.

Poor logistic handling

CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Cast Iron Weight Plate, Grey, 35 lb, front view showing a round grey cast iron plate with embossed 'STANDARD BARBELL' text and weight markings '35 LB.' and '15.9 KG.' around the central hole for Olympic bars, featuring smooth edges and extra ribbing for support, ideal for strength training and cardiovascular fitness.
