Great water bottle for cycling. Does not spill or leak and eliminated the need to try and open the bottle to take a drink. Looks like the redesign of the top will be good to keep mold and bacteria from growing in there like the last design. These are the best bottle I have found so far!

Good Water Bottle

This is the perfect solution for the way I go to the gym. i stick the bottle on my bag and know it won't leak...as long as I remember to turn the top to the closed position. It's strong enough to holdup in the bag where I throw other things.
I have one for my bike, but never thought about using these bottles in the gym. And I got bright colors (got 2 of them) so I won't forget to pick them up from the equipment I am using. At least that is the hope.

Perfect for my use

I ordered two 24oz bottles. I wish they sold larger volumes. I like the size of the insulated bottles, but I don't want it insulated. Give me more volume. I found that after 3 weeks of daily use on the bike, they're getting pretty scuffed up. Keeping pretty bottle pretty is near impossible unless I have dedicated off-bike bottles.

I ordered two 24oz bottles.

Got the bottles quickly and brand new. Color is correct and Podium bottles have worked well for me. What I didn't know is that they aren't insulated. I assumed that these were insulated like the other Podium bottles I've used for a couple years now. They're just ordinary, thin plastic walled bottles. That's okay, but kind of unexpected. Overall, happy with purchase.

Good Bottles

Now seemingly in v3, the Podium has been the very best cycling bottle I have found since their introduction after co-development with the Slipstream Sports ProTour team (was it Garmin then?), and they are indispensable to me. Over the many years and many miles, the Podium has never failed me on the bike or when traveling. Despite countless dishwasher cycles, I still use the first and second generation bottles in addition to the v3 Podium. I have never retired a Podium bottle — even my first generation bottles remain leak-proof — but I confess to sometimes losing one (just lost my third one). The cap seals perfectly and the nozzle locks completely, so the Podium bottle never leaks, even when banging around in the bottle of a bag. Unfortunately, It can be difficult to find the non-insulated clear bottles -- my fav and the sole reason for only 4/5 stars. I own one of the insulated bottles, but I've used it only a few times ever because I like to see the liquid level and insulation is a modest effect. Camelback, instead of opaque options, please introduce more colors of clear bottles!

Best Bottle

It's nice to finally have a REAL bottle instead those janky free bottles I've collected from biking events. The podium has no plastic taste and is easy to squeeze. I wish the podium valve was one piece and not so noisy when it “inhales”. Still a great bottle. With a one piece valve, I'd give it 5 stars instead of 4.

Darn good

Love the bottle caps. Easy to disassemble and clean. However, I am disappointed that the bottles I purchased are NOT insulated. Was not specific in the description. I load 4 bottles for my ride, and by the time I get to bottle 3 and 4, they are warm. I guess I need to be a better shopper. :(

Podium 24oz Bike Bottle

A fantastic job of cost reduction to what was a fantastic product.
1) reduced nozzle height-cap hits you in the nose if you do not tilt the bottle just right.
2) Killed the great necked down section that promoted to easy squeeze-ability.
3) I suspect the plastic was changed for a cost reduction-different feel to the bottles compliance. Plastics have very different modulus of elasticities depending on which one you use and this effects the compliance.
4) I am continuing to search for a replacement.

tldr: The newly designed spout system is a horrible design that breaks easily. I expect more from Camelbak. They should be ashamed of this product and recalling these lids.

I have been a fan of the Camelbak Podium water bottle for several years now. I am an elite endurance sports athlete and make constant use of water bottles. I always keep a couple in the car, several on the bike, an extra one in each workout bag, etc. On 300+ mile cycling races, for example, my support vehicle will have a dozen+ so that they can swap me out as I keep riding along. You get the idea.

I've made the Camelbak Podium my standard bottle so that all the lids are interchangeable. I make heavy use of my bottles, but I definitely don't use them inappropriately. I never chew on the lid or bite excessively. Of the 80+ Podium bottles I've owned over the last 8 years or so, I've only had a handful of spouts with the original-design fail. 

For the most part, I order new bottles because I've lost them or because I've given them away to friends. Seeing that my inventory was running low, I recently made a purcahse of 20 x Camelbak Podium 24oz water bottles. I could see in the online picture that the design of the lid had changed, and wasn't sure if they'd be interchangeable with my older bottles. They were, and I was pleased. However, my pleasure was short lived as after only a few days the spouts started to break. It's now been a couple of months and of my 20 brand-new bottles, only 10 have the spout intact! This is absolutely unacceptable and Camelback should be ashamed of this poorly designed system. I literally have some 8-year-old lids with the original-designed spout still in perfect condition, while these 2-month-old newly-designed spouts are ripped apart. 

Camelback, what were you thinking?

High failure rate of new spout design, stay away!
