Room Temperature Control

Remote functionality can be inconsistent or stop working suddenly.

Effective in small spaces, but limited in larger areas.

Allows easy setup and operation in various locations.

We're experiencing a heat wave on the East Coast and our upstairs window unit finally went out after servicing us faithfully since 1973. I was finding it difficult to replace so ordered 3 portable units instead.

After my sister and I got it upstairs (still not sure how we did but will have to with the other 2 units) we installed it in our Mother's bedroom. With teamwork, we got it up and running in under 1 hour (the other 2 units will be a breeze by comparison) and Mommy has the coolest room upstairs now!

Be mindful of the bucket and empty if every 4 hours or so I used white duct tape to seal the window and the exhaust.

A cooling dream.

walmart.com

This is a great AC unit for the master bedroom. We like to keep the house at 71, but this on 63 at night. The white noise is great to have if you're used to sleeping with a fan. You also don't have to empty the moisture tank either which is a plus. This comes at a great price and I honestly love it.

10/10 would recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like how efficient it is. I wish it had a much longer exhaust hose though. It is not as loud as a regular window unit. It is of course not quiet either as it's an air conditioner. I love the dark blue color. It supplements our main ac unit nicely. There's absolutely no way an 8000 btu unit of any kind is going to cut Deep South heat in the summer for a 500 square foot area that has at least one window! However this unit suffices for a small bedroom with a walk-in closet. It doesn't trip the breaker either. It's a keeper for me.

Excellent for a bedroom! Not as loud as window ac

It was a little difficult hooking up the hose and the window attachments doesn't fit every window. So if you don't have the standard window you will definitely need to be creative on how you'd get it to stay in. But besides that it cooled the room down quickly

Easy setup. Works/cools well in my studio apartment.

Excellent AC

Purchased 3 of these units. The first one did not work, so decided to return all three. Didn't open the other two. Now having difficulties with returning. Be very careful of third party sellers on Walmart site. There are different return policies and I can't return to the store and having to deal directly with the third party seller.

Not impressed

Returning!! This blew cold air for about 10 minutes %26 then blew warm air.
And the box was taped with straps around it and 1 piece of cardboard on the bottom. I think I got a returned item or the floor model. Huge disappointment.

Returning

After a week the item is set to flow, but really a lot,is not worth the price, they did not want to accommodate me it wanted that I recommend another..I really think of not buying from walmart anymore!

Don't waste your money

I installed it in our very small bedroom we use as an office. The room can get too warm in the afternoon and we don't want to cool off the entire house with our central air when only a very small space needs cooling. It worked great the first day we used it. The next time we turned it on it blew air but the compressor never kicks in. The room was 82 degrees and the thermostat was set for 74 degrees and compressor just wouldn't come on. Probably a capacitor or something simple. Maybe we got a dud. Disappointed. I'll be returning it tomorrow. We really loved it for the one day we were able to use it. Bummed to be without one during this heat wave.

Worked for One Day

Have had it about 1 month. Made for closet sized rooms. Sometimes will stop blowing even while ac is still on. Sometimes can over flow with water even when the dehumidifier setting isn't on. Woke up with room flooded because dehumidifier setting never shut off I'm assuming (it said it was in ax mode)

Costway 8,000BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control 3-in-1 Air Cooler w/ Drying front-facing white portable AC with LED touch panel, removable washable front filter, adjustable 90° louver and four caster wheels; cools up to 230 sq ft (21 m²), functions as fan and dehumidifier, includes remote and window venting kit, often used for spot-cooling home offices or laundry rooms.
