5 stars for color.  1 star for fit!  I needed this exact color of shirt to go with my favorite pants. I bought 8 maroon shirts everywhere online hoping for a match.  But this Hanes was the ONLY correct color.  However, Hanes didn't HAVE it in women's or in smaller men's sizes.  Lucky me!  I can sew!  So I bought the remaining XXXXLg men's size, and easily cut out a perfect shirt for myself.  Great match!  What do you think?  Yes, I'm old- 76!  Girls in my generation ALL knew how to sew!

When you can't find this shirt in YOUR size

Hanes

I 've owned this 'type' of Hanes T-shirt for years. Bought several at a time - several times. The previous ones were always 'tagless' - these are NOT tagless. Furthermore - the cotton in this batch is much stiffer than previous batches - even after laundering with fabric softener.

Not as good as they used to be...

i bought a lot of 6 x shirts bc they are hard to find...i put the Orange one on Saturday first time...my the middle of the day I started get black spots on the material and I was not by anything or doing anything strenuous...I took it home and immediately threw it in the wash....the dots stayed in the fabric and I could not get them out...I am very disappointed that a brand new shirt is now worthless !! athese are two different parts of the tshirt...

Very disappointed in these shirts.  They say they are "preshrunk" but all of mine shrunk a whole size, including losing a good 3 inches on length.  On the plus side...the fabric is a sturdy cotton and the colors are nice and bright.  Make sure to buy a size larger if you want them to fit after washing.

For the price I cant expect much but these shirts shrink and turn rough after the first wash. In other words, these shirts are horrible

I bought two shirts and one of them had a stain on it, and I washed them and the stain didnt come out.  these shirts were for an important day and she had to wear it with a stain on it. Don't understand how you send shirts with stains on them.

Dirty shirt

I cannot believe they they state above: "• Super soft cotton tee looks as great as it feels." Yes, I'm talking about the "Hanes Men's Authentic Short-Sleeve T-Shirt"  Wow...  I bet they are scrambling to change that statement right about now.  That, or they simply will not allow this review.  I'm 70 years old and have been wearing cotton my entire life, I was raised in cotton. I know what cotton feels like, how it washes, how it wears. If THIS is cotton I don't know what in the world they are doing to it to ruin it so that it feels like canvas.  Maybe a weave so loose (130 strands per square inch?) some people would shame it to death. Honestly, I do not believe it is cotton, or pure cotton. it's some jimmy-rigged excuse for cotton and very badly done. I've put up with, and kept, a lot of HANES's new cotton wannabees, but NOT this.  It's one of the worst fabrics I've ever felt. It's like wearing a slightly tighter weave burlap. I bought the purple, not a heather or a steel. solid color purple. Also I bought it big, like I always do, because their un-sanforized cotton's shrink so much, but 6 washings later and the last two were HOT HOT, NO shrinkage!  And it's gotten scratchier with every washing, No amount of fabric softener will ever make it come out soft and wrinkle free. It wrinkles like nobody's business, and the wrinkles don't relax with wear or from humidity. You can pull it straight out of the wash and HANG IT UP to dry, it still wrinkles. I don't know what this stuff is, but it is nasty. and I'm sick of trying to wash it into something I'd want to wear. Cottons (if you're so young you don't yet know) get SOFTER with each washing. The thrift stores won't even want this, I'd feel bad giving it to goodwill. It's just trash. the texture is kind of like... outdoor cushion material...   rough, scratchy, probably last forever in a landfill.  ..ugh!

Thankfully, I only bought one..

Recently purchased 13 in different colors.  I have purchased Hanes 5250 for years...this batch is manufactured to different (or no) quality standards.  This batch came from the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Haiti.  Only the one shirt from Haiti was up to the old standards....it is the old tag-less vintage, while the rest have irritating tear off labels.  One look at the collar bands on these 3 shirts is a dead giveaway on overall quality.

Junk

Disappointed.
For a 100% cotton shirt this sure is stiff and scratchy. The crew neck also puckers where it's sewn into the shirt. This after just one wash. I haven't even worn the shirt. Not sure I'm going to. Plus ordering direct from Hanes wasn't any better than a retailer. In fact after getting my order confirmed, and then waiting for delivery I was told one item wasn't available. Why then was I allowed to order it? Weird.

Disappointed

I had some Hanes tees from many years ago that were a soft,comfortable fabric andheld up well over time.  They dont make them like that anymore.  The fabric was very rough cotton and it did not soften with washing.  It felt just awful against my skin.  The finishing was poor.  And the shirts shrank with the first washing.  The sizing was already running a bit small.  Basically in comparison to the past quality, these were awful.  Would rather them be more expensive and made like before.
