A major improvement from the old OTR microwave. This hood does a great job of capturing and removing the steam and grease from cooking. The white color matches my kitchen and appliances, so looks sleek. My only caveat was that installation was very challenging. It's heavy, so you either need several people to hold and screw in place or a system to hold the hood up while screwing it in. I tried the instructed method with cabinet jacks, and found I could not get those under the center of gravity needed to balance the hood. In the end a stack of heavy boxes did the job. You need quite a long extension bit to reach the back screws and will likely be working by feel for those as you really can't see them, even with the range out of the way. Thankfully, it'll only need to be installed once.

I couldn't install this product in my home unfortunately because my stove is up against an interior wall and the studs don't run in the right direction to allow easy access to the outside. And if the pipes were to run a different direction (eg south) I'd have to move a gas tank and other very complicated stuff.

I however am still giving this five stars because the return process was very simple and easy for something that is huge and heavy. I expected it to be a little more difficult but they were great about the return process.

Couldn't use, but easy return process!

I have only had it installed for about 5 days.  So far it has meet all expectations and I am very pleased with it.  I was concerned that it would be to loud on high speed but it is surprisingly relatively quiet.  The only thing that bugs me a little, is that you have to push the on/off button in order to turn the light on.  It would be nice to turn the light on separately without having the display on.  With the aid of a couple of car scissor jacks, the installation was not very difficult.

Exceeds Expectations

I'm impressed by the sleek and modern design of the vent hood. Installation was a breeze thanks to the comprehensive set of tools provided. Its effortless cleaning process is a big plus for me, and the impressive power it delivers is exactly what I was looking for.

I am impressed

We installed the Hauslane vent as part of our remodeled kitchen. 
The Hauslane was the only vent that allowed a choice of venting options. 
We needed the rear vent because structural members blocked the other options. 
The unit works flawlessly and efficiently, we’re very happy we found it.

Flexibility of venting options!

When remodeling my kitchen, I decided to remove the microwave and went looking for a good range hood. I decided to give Hauslane a try, and to this day, I believe I made a good decision; this product works very well—it absorbs grease and odors, and it doesn't make much noise.

Good decision

We purchased our Hauslane range hood four years ago.  The unit is attractive and has met my every expectation.  I use the fan and light settings on a daily basis without any issues.  The company has been easy to contact, responsive and fully cooperative.  It is easy for me to recommend this range hood.

Solid product

I received this venthood as a gift with very highly recommendations from my friends for my new house more than a year ago. This is the best gift I have ever received. The smells from cooking never linger in my kitchen more than 10 minutes after cooking. The fans are powerful but very quiet compared to other vent hoods that I used before.
Highly recommend this venthood if you hate cooking smell like me.

Best venthood ever

The hood looks very nice but the fan is so noisy. It's like I'm flagging in jets into my kitchen. It's so bad and I'm extremely disappointed in the noise if it weren't for the fact that they're probably all noisy at this point my other one was not I had a braun Oven hood and it had 12 speeds to it and it was 60,000 times quieter than this So I'm extremely disappointed in the noise that the hood from the fan

I bought this range hood two weeks ago, and honestly I'm not happy with it. First of all, the touchscreen controls are annoying. Instead of pressing one button and starting immediately, I have to touch multiple controls in a certain order every time. Another issue is the fan speed adjustment. Whenever I increase or decrease the speed, the fan briefly stops before speeding up or slowing down again. That pause feels unnecessary and irritating. As for the noise level, it seems like the manufacturer only focused on reducing noise at the highest speed. In reality, medium settings are what people use most often, and the noise at those levels is not acceptable. The most annoying problem is the secondary whistling sound coming from the grille. In addition to the normal fan noise, there is a separate high-pitched whistle, especially at lower settings. Sometimes when I leave food on the stovetop and run the hood at level 1 just to prevent cooking smells, people think the stove is still cooking because the whistling sound resembles simmering food. If I could go back in time, I definitely would not buy this product. A range hood is something people expect to use for 10–15 years or more, and I am not satisfied with this one at all. Unfortunately, it is already installed, and replacing it would mean paying another installation fee. So now I feel stuck with this expensive and annoying product until it eventually breaks.
