Soft.  And does the trick.  Needed for those occasional days when we just obsessively won't stop licking.  Kinda like time out and reset.  Size small - 16lb yorkie poo.  Went by size cbart - she has a super long neck - so just went my neck circumference and perfect.  Soft and Velcro super sticky so stays on no problem.

I did the measuring and when I got it and put it on the dog it looked way too big so I would use it at night time because it's cushioned but turns out it is not too big it's just that I'm used to the clear cone he cannot see out the sides so it's good for bedtime and then I saw a picture online of another similar collar and it was folded down so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! he can wear it during the day it looks awkward it looks uncomfortable but it absolutely is not and he has much more freedom now because he can hold his bones which is his joy in life! so I love this color and I will be buying another one because he plays very hard and it gets dirty quick even though it cleans easily and dries easily I don't want to put that plastic one back on ever again! Ty 🥰🐶🐕

I thought I wasn't happy with the purchase, until

XL fit our 60 lb goldendoodle and has held up well as he recovers from surgery.  He tore a plastic cone up by running into everything.  This one flexes so it works in his crate and is forgiving when he smacks into a doorway.

My Frenchie is constantly rubbing his face on the rug until he screams. I put the cone on and folded it down a little bit to make him comfortable. The material is great soft and comfy to sleep with it on. I diffinitly recommend.

Great soft cone to stop licking

This Elizabeth and collar is far better than any other. I have purchased in the past. It is much more comfortable for my dog and as long as it is utilized with a collar, it stays in place my dog can lay down and rest his head without any problem this is a good product.

Love that it folds back and still does the job, he can go in and out the dog door with it on no problem. 
it has loops to attach it to the collar but you do not have to attach it to the collar it holds on all by itself.
for the price you cannot beat this

perfect

Saved the skin on our shins and the paint on the door frames. The dog tolerated it nicely too. It did tend to collapse a bit onto itself while the dog moved around in his crate, but it popped back into its original shape with no problem. Also it's washable!

Would buy one again

this is very good product only reason for the 3stars r item was 2big were i thought i should go up n size to medium instead risking small being 2lil after ready other reviews. My Chihuahua definitely needed it small do recommend product 100%

Soft unfortunately means floppy in this case. So it doesn't hold up well, is hard to install, and when outside picks up dirt and stains from normal use. It does (sort of) block scratching and licking, but because it isn't very stiff, dog can push it aside which kind of defeats the purpose.

Soft, in this case, probably isn't the best option

Do not buy. If you're going to anyways then measure and get the next size bigger than what it says. My dog can still get to themselves because it is not rigid enough and the buckles on the outside fell off. The cone flips back on itself allowing them to chew on themselves. It's a waste of $20. You're better off calling and asking your vet for one and buying a hard plastic one from Tractor Supply.
