I used this on my natural color which is a medium ashy brown. I wanted to enhance my hair color and add shine without the damage. This did all that! I used the shade 523 and it turned out almost exactly like the box. I cancelled my hair salon appointment because I now have my favourite shade. I also love that it washes out so I can experiment with different shades. I want to try the auburn one as well. I think it turned out so well because I stayed very close to my own shade, just made it warmer.

Would give 5 stars BUT my colour was discontinued!

I've been using spiced auburn for 2 years and unfortunately that time has come to an end. I got so many compliments on my hair with this colour and it's going to be hard to replace.

I see so many bad reviews from blondes and it make me wonder why L'oreal didn't discontinue the blonde colour instead!

There's people all over reddit talking about how sad we are to lose spiced auburn!!! It's a well loved colour in my eyes!

I know us read heads are maybe not as common as the other colours but L'Oreal! C'mon!

Why was Spiced Auburn (553) discontinued?

Love this product! I used this to tone down my bleached hair which was brassy and unnatural looking around my face and too bright. I applied this as low lights (as a toner) using a brush and let it process about 6-7 min. Fabulous results! So natural, no damage, great coverage and I look so refreshed with a natural color. Will buy it again!!

Love the natural color!

I used the old formula for years. Light brown. It made my hair a beautiful ash-brown shade. It lasted ages. The new light brown formula made my hair a very dark brassy cheap red/brown. Very phony looking. I hate it. Why did you change the formula and double the price? This isn't very good. So hard to find semi-permanent on the market. Your was the best now it is terrible.

Not Demi. Did not wash out. It's been 3 months on virgin hair and my hair has not gone back to the original shade

I used to use the gloss creme 801 that is discontinued now. I tried this one and it's so dark and not shiny like the old version.  I have naturally a lot of shine and colours in my hair and it's like instead of bringing this up it made all my natural golden  highlights dark compare to the 801. It's deceiving that you stoped offering gloss that starts with 8 and comes with a 0 after and a 1. No choices anymore for highlighting the natural silver tone . My hair are … boring now . Disappointing.  Even the” 8” seams really dark compare to before .

Disappointing ….

Very disappointed in the product change!  I used Casting Color for almost 20 years, mostly 801.  This new one in 923 left my hair darker and with red/orange tones!!!  Plus it's not shiny anymore.... Why did you have to run a good thing??  Time to change brands after 20+ years I guess...
