The oil-in-gel formula is easy to apply and leaves hair feeling soft and silky. Available in over 50 luminous shades. Thank to the higher concentration of dye's, the colour lasts longer with a high impact shine. HOW TO USE : 48h before colouring do the allergy test. Step 1: Apply product using the applicator, squeeze colour mixture immediately to dry, unwashed hair. Work gently through hair as you would a shampoo, and apply to grey areas first. Step 2: For hair with little or no grey, wait 25 minutes with the mixture in your hair. For grey hair, leave on for an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Step 3: Rinse out. Love this color. I have dark hair turning gray. I found this and tried it and it has done wonders. It brightens the hair without using bleach. It does not cover the grays 100%  but does help to blend with the dark hair but help them to blend in with your hair. Easy to use instructions are in the box with gloves. Leave my hair, looking healthy and shine.  See that before and after pictures.

I live on a budget, and I'm disabled to be 57 years old.Cannot afford to go.Have my hair die out of a beauty Swan?It's easy for me to buy A10A $12 bottle of hair dye and do it myself.The quality is great.You know, I have a hard time with my arms, but I take my time and it works every time it lasts me about 3 months.And let me tell you, where can you go?Get your hair died for $12.Take 30 minutes to set in.And I love it , it makes me feel wonderful.

Nothing to dislike lots to like , beautiful hair color true to it's name shiny soft and long lasting , L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference Permanent Hair Color, 3 Soft Black. I have been using this color for many years and haven't changed to any other , hope they keep the same formula and not change it like other brands have done. :) 5 stars

It's easy to use %26 the results are quite pleasing. This particular shade is less reddish-gold %26 more cool-ash, which I prefer.
One thing my hairdresser cleared up: no need to leave it on as long as the instructions say. 15 minutes is fine. Then, spread it to the ends %26 by the time you step into the warm shower, it's ready to be lathered, rinsed %26 conditioned.

Nice color, simple process with good results…

My hair was virgin before I colored it with this product. It was mostly white with some gray in it. I needed a change so I chose this color and I'm not disappointed! It came out a medium beige blonde with lighter and darker tones, where my hair was whiter it took on a light blond color and where it was more gray, more of a medium blond. It really looks very pretty, I highly recommend this hair color it's supposed to resist fade too we'll see in a few more weeks if that's true but it's definitely worth the price and I will use it again when my roots start to show.

L'Oreal Superior Preference  Hair Color 8G

I have been using this brand for so many years . It's the best hair color if you don't like so much brassiness in your hair and beautiful shiny long lasting hair this is the only one that lets me have that. I am not wealthy enough to go to the beauty salon like I would like to maintain my gray hair so I just do my own and this is the only hair color that helps me do that.

Best Hair Color

This is the only hair dye that lifts my dark hair. I have very dark brown hair and have tried other box dyes and none of them even come close to this hi lift dye. I've even tried other L'Oréal hair dyes that did nothing but make my hair dark. I wanted an auburn color and this box makes my hair a golden auburn. I love it! I will never buy another kind. If you're looking to lighten your hair and actually see a difference, look no further. You can see how light my hair became in the photo. I always get compliments about my hair color and asked which salon I go to. When I tell them it's a box dye they look shocked. Buy this!  

P.S. Look for the UL-63 number. They changed the model on the box, but the color remains the same. I was so confused and thought they discontinued it, but they just changed the model.

The only dye that lifts my dark hair

My hair has been blue and pink for three years and I needed to lighten and start with fresh dye. I never expected it to leave me with NO blue and “normal” colored hair, lol….  I considered leaving it blonde but didn't recognize that lady in my mirror soooo It was TOO normal and was blue again two days later.

Shocked it did what I needed

I don't know if someone switched the color in the box or what but this is clearly not medium blonde I put the color on my hair I went and went and did the dishes set the timer and when I came back my take a shower and looked at the color in the mirror before I did it was brown when I rinsed it in the shower I got out and it was still brown so yeah, this is not medium blonde it's brown not anything close to my natural color which is the whole idea of coloring your hair is to keep it as close to your natural color as possible!

Something clearly went wrong somewhere

I've used preference for 20  years. I use the medium brown number five. I naturally have a medium brown hair. I have always been very pleased with this product. However, they have recently changed the formula so beware! The last three boxes I have used have been horrible. It turns my hair an orangey brown and I can't stand orange undertones. In addition, the new formula will only last two weeks so my dye job is gone after two weeks. I'm just going to have to change to a different brand because I just can't be dying my hair every two weeks. It's not healthy. In addition, I'm not getting the color I want anyway. So what's the point? I don't understand why product manufacturers will go and, change a good thing. This is one of the top dyes on the market for over-the-counter and I don't know if they're cutting corners or what but this was a big mistake.  Now I need to research what to replace my favorite dye with ☹️. The photo is two weeks after my dye.  It used to dye it a rich brown.  Now it's just a red mess.

Caution- formula change!!!!
