Our 11 yr old wanted this bed for her birthday.  She LOVES it!  She made herself a little girl cave underneath.  Great space saving bed.  It took about an hour for my husband to put this bed together, so that wasn't bad.  Everything was in the box, nothing missing.  We are very happy with this purchase!

Great loft bed

We bought this for my son's tight space at college.  It is perfect - he was able to fit two dressers underneath, and has lots of extra space behind the dressers for more storage.  The bed is very sturdy - no shakiness or noisiness.  It took my son and husband about 2 hours to put together, but it wasn't difficult.  We bought a twin XL comforter to go on it, as we knew it would be hard to make the bed with a wider one.  The twin XL worked well.  It covers the edges of the bed, and he doesn't have to fight with it to make it look neat. We are very happy with this purchase!

A great buy!

This bed totally changed my girls' feelings about their room. They now have more space to move around in their room and they each have their own area to hang out without having to see each other. :-)
The ladder is built into the end of the bed so there is no space lost from a ladder jutting out into the room, and no ladder to come off or fall and hit something.
The bed is relatively easy to assemble- I had to take apart some pieces I'd assembled after realizing I had them oriented incorrectly, but nothing too daunting.
The bed is stable, does not shake when my 6 or 10 year old climb up. The bed stays put but moves easily when needed due to the "gliders" at base of each of the corner posts.

Great space saving solution

Bought this to add additional sleeping for grand kids. Had a queen bed and did not want to remove existing furniture, but needed more sleeping room. The queen bed fits under the bunk in an L shape, width of queen is under the bunk. Works great. It came with a strap to secure to the wall, but it is sturdy enough and with the queen under it, did not feel it was needed. It looks as pictured. Some of the snaps used to secure the rails in the bed, need a strong person, or what worked to get them started and use something to then push them in with. Just used what was handy, but stopped the pinching of skin trying to put them in. Did take a couple of hours to put it together, one male adult, one old grandma, and 3 children. My job was just reading instructions and finding parts and holding things. Children were able to do screws and allen wrench though. So not hard to put it together, was just a little time consuming in our cramped area to put it together, small bedroom with queen bed in there.

I ordered this loft bed for my five year old son to free up some space in his bedroom. So far, we are very happy with it. It is sturdy, and i like the way the safety rails go all the way around without any opening. It took him the day to get use to it, and now he thinks he's a pro. I rated this a 4 star and not a five because of the rails on the ladders going up. They are thin and do hurt your feet. I had read about this in other reviews and had bought some pool noodles to put on during assembly and now it's perfect. My son loves his new bed and we couldn't be more happy with it.

AWESOME LOFT BED

We compared this bed to the Ikea Tromso before deciding to purchase for our pre-teen's room. We selected this one because the Tromso was higher (taller), leaving less headroom between bed and ceiling. However, the Tromso has more headroom underneath. We also realized the "built in" ladder design was more stable even though (unlike the Tromso) there was no opening to climb into the bed. Our final and biggest sell point was that it came to our home with free shipping. Ikea does not provide free shipping to homes. For the price, it's sturdy and looks great. I can't see our pre-teen wanting to sleep in a loft bed for more than a few years, so price needed to be very reasonable for the quality of the product. We already had a futon that fit nicely in the underspace and it looks great with both pieces together. It took less than an hour to assemble and secure to the wall.

Good Price, Good Stability, Good Size

I bought tow of these beds for my children who share a room. Needless to say, space is at a premium. The beds are sturdy and well constructed to hold an 8 & 9 yr olds securly without being fastened to the wall. Positioning of the beds didn't allow for us to fasten the beds to a wall stud. Assembly is easy enough but does take about 2-3 hours and can be rough on the hands if using the manufacturer's supplied tools. We placed the Mainstays Contempo Futon Sofa Bed under one bed across from the TV and their computer underneath the other bed with enough room left over for a dresser or bean-bag. The FAQ section doesn't exactly answer the question of "does the Mainstays Metal Arm Futon with Mattress fit under the bed?" No. That futon and just about any other standard size futon will not fit as the futon is 77 inches and the space under the bed 75 inches from pole to pole. Pay attention to the packaging specs to avaoid making the mistake I did by seeing 74" overall width on the Mainstays Metal Arm Futon with Mattress box only to spend another two hours assembling it to realize the box is labeld incorrectly. If you plan to place a futon under one of the beds, double check and triple check all the measurements. Lesson learned.

Overall; I don't think this prodcut can be beat for the price and purpose of saving space.

Great value to maximize space

Bought this so that we could fit a queen size bed in a T shape underneath. Theres not many full size loft at this price so thats good. I was able to do the construction myself for the most part however needed my 7 years olds assistance once about halfway through. In total it took me about 6 hours alone but the first hour and half was spent trying to undo many mistakes. Pay really close attention to photo details as some positions are implied and not explained. Also it operates off  letter stickers to identify parts and tools and we had about 4 stickers missing so it added to the stress. Try your best to hand tighten the screws before using the tool! Itll help. The bed does hold the weight and seems sturdy so as long as you truly tighten all the many many screws. Be warned however it is wobbly. Also the dimensions are a bit off, its suppose to fit a full size mattress however the mattress fits very very tight! It is really hard to fit sheets and blankets on since there is no wiggle room. This could be more difficult for a used mattress. Big downfall. Lastly its looks great having the metal bar surround the bed however it should have had an opening near the ladder as my 7 year old is learning to get used to the hard metal and climbing over the rail to get in and out. Definitely banging her shins. Also Im hoping to find some cushion type things to put on the rail. The metal is tough. In all, You get what you pay. Hoping to have this for a few years until the kid out grows the bunk bed phase.

Tight full size dimensions

After assembling, we realized that one must climb over the rather high railing to get onto the bed. That creates a slight danger and is quite difficult for some as the railing is at least 8 inches high depending on the mattress. The better loft beds have a space or cut-off to easily enter the top area of the bed.
A good price but poor design. Walmart let me return it with no problem. 5 stars for Walmart's customer service and policy!
