The walking shoes are very comfortable. I can wear them all day with no issues. My only complaint is I have had them for 3 weeks and the shoe lace is about to break. Minor issue.

New Balance US

I've been wearing New Balance 577 shoes for a few years now and they are wonderful. I get around town in them and have even spent several trips to Japan wearing them. While traveling abroad, I typically get in an average of 12,000 steps per day and these are always comfortable.

Great Shoes

This is a most comfortable shoe. It wears well and has a good sole that can be used on a gym floor as well as for walking or hiking. I’ve been walking my dog on ice covered streets and surprised these shoes held their own, and survived the salt and wet. The only thing that can be improved, and the reason for 4 stars, is the length of the closing straps, they can be slightly longer. I would still recommend these shoes. I use the wide version, the regular size was too small for me.

Most comfortable shoe

Good fit overall.  The heel is a little loose, but that is due to the fact that I wear Extra Wide (4E)  shoes.  They are comfortable and provide a stable platform for walking.

Good Shoes

The shoe doesn't allow for an easy slip through fit. I find it to be a bit uncomfortable in getting my foot inside the space-but I imagine that is due to the increasing flexibility of the material that needs to happen. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.

Review of Recent Purchase-New Balance Walking Shoe

Fits well from the measurements the store provided. After a few days of wear, they developed a squeak each step I took which was very noticeable. The padding didn't seem to provide much support on the balls of my feet making standing or walking uncomfortable after a few hours.

Good Fit but Will Pick a Different Model Next Tim

Generally solid shoe, but stiff and uncomfortable in the toe box at first; seems to take quite a bit of breaking-in before it's even reasonably comfortable.  Have had mine for three weeks and they're only now getting close to "comfortable" for all-day wear.
Also, shoe seems hot on the feet in warm weather.

Needs Breaking-In...lots

I'm a retired senior that likes to walk as a pastime. My favorite shoe is NB 877 walking shoe, which unfortunately is no longer available. After countless searches to replace my extremely used 877s, I settled for these 577s...what a disappointment. I must admit they seem to be well made, they're just not very comfortable. I've been wearing them for about a month now, and they're still not broken in to my liking. If NB decides to bring back the 877 walking shoe, I'd be a happy man...

Bring back the 877 walking shoe!

I ordered size 13 wide and wore them for about two months. One day put them on to go to work, start tying the laces, and the stitching on the side of the laces just completely tore off. So now the shoe is worthless. New Balance used to have such high quality shoes, it's all I ever purchased because I needed a wide fit in a leather shoe. But seeing this after only a couple of months I think I'll be finding a new shoe manufacturer.

New Balance... What happened? 577v1

The shoes are nice but the point where the tongue is stitched to the upper on the inside lands right on top of the joint between my big toe and it’s metatarsal. I was hoping that it would break in. But after trying every other day for a week. It has irritated my skin. 
I will be returning the shoes to the factory store in San Ysidro, CA this week. I will try a half size larger if they have any.
