I used to use a $55 make-up powder that I purchsed from a high-end department store. I still think that it's a great product. However, this Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder is blowing my mind. It is every bit as good as the expensive powder. The only difference that I can see is in my bank account.

Not cakey just flawless. Great value for an awesome powder. My skin is not oily, so it works great for me. Just need a little don't need to pile up on the face powder. Works for at least 8 hours before I need a touch-up. Buy it- great for mature skin.

This matte pressed powdered is great.  It's lightweight and gives good coverage.  If you finish it off with Rimmel finishing spray, it stays on nicely.  It's good quality make up for my fair skin.  And you can use it with or without foundation, at least I do.  I really give this 5 stars all around.

This has been my go-to powder for many years now. I brush it over my foundation for all-day oil control and to hide the appearance of redness and blemishes. This leaves my skin tone looking even, prevents my face from looking shiny, and doesn't wear off during the day. It's perfect!

Perfect oil control and coverage for flawless look

I love this powder and the reviews were right. I find that in the office it mattifies all day. Maybe the five hour is for other conditions. It doesn't take a lot to work great and then there's no cakeiness either. I can't wait to try the pink shade. The loud kind of slips into the pan so I'm worried it won't travel well, but for $4 I can't imagine a better product or deal. I have $30 powders that don't work as well. I'm 42 and dry skin, too.

I wasn't expecting translucent powder to have much of an impact. I was just trying to even out my skin tone a bit. But on the first day I wore this, I got so many spontaneous compliments from people about how my skin looks! It really is a well-made powder foundation that goes on smoothly with a kabuki brush to massage it into the skin.  

Pros: Affordable, cruelty-free, portable size, surprisingly good coverage.
Cons: Strong perfume smell, no mirror, flimsy lid that will break easily.

I've used this matte powder for a few years now and loved it UNTIL they changed it. Now it's a mineral base that leaves your skin looking shiny and cakey! I use powder to reduce looking shiny not to enhance it! It also settles into every pore and fine line! Very disappointing! Bring back the original formula!

I have been using this powder since high-school I'm 30 now was always complemented on how pretty my skin was. I bought 5 powders and stock up just in case i run out this most recent new batch is horrid. It's smells different, texture is shiny not matte anymore and it does not blend well anymore it's blotchy and uneven like “highlighter” but on your entire face. Just like all of these reviews have been stating. Don't waste your money on this updated formula it is not worth it.

It appears Rimmel has changed the formula on their Stay Matte powder. I have used this product for years. The new product is dry and chalky, provides no blendable coverage, comes off in an hour and has a totally different scent. Very disappointing. Please go back to the old formula!

Formula Change Buyer Beware

I've used this powder for YEARS and loved it. They recently changed the formulation and it is absolutely horrible. Not the same at all. Thick, cakey, and keeps my skin from being able to breathe. Doesn't control oil at all. Actually makes it worse. First ingredient used to be talc - now it's mica. I'm so upset. I'm going to return the 2 I recently purchased and look for an alternative. This product is garbage now.
