Can be straightforward, but may require patience and time.

I just set up the desk a couple days ago and so far I really enjoy it. The box is *extremely* heavy and a minimum of two very strong individuals are needed to bring it in. In regards to assembly, I was able to put it all together by myself but having another set of hands would have made things a bit easier.

Review for the actual product: very solid and sturdier than I expected! The desk isn't *real* wood but instead has a plastic-like wood-pattern finish. I actually prefer this because it makes the surfaces so much smoother. I was concerned the desk might be too big based on the pictures but the size feels just right! The only negative thing I can say is that the book shelf is more shallow than I anticipated -- it is about the width of a notebook. It can definitely support wider objects like textbooks as long as you don't mind them hanging over the shelf a little bit.  Overall I am very satisfied with the product considering the price. Would recommend.

Very Sturdy Desk

Love it! It was easy to put together for having so many pieces and it is so sturdy and the perfect size for my home office. It looks like its worth much more. Amazing money spent.

Couldn't be happier.

I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase. It's elegant, yet functional.  Beautifully designed and looks more expensive than it was. If you're on the fence, don't be, BUY it, you won't be disappointed!

Home office desk

The desk is gorgeous and well exceeded our expectations on quality for the price!  Worth every penny and minute it took to assemble.  Instructions aren't super clear and some pieces weren't marked but everything was in the both and in perfect condition.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy this desk.  I absolutely love it!

The perfect desk!

My order arrived on time.   This desk is great, it is really well made, the back side is finished so if you wanted to put it in the center of the room you can.  Assembly took some time but the finish product is great.  Another excellent product from Sauder.

Sauder August Hill L Desk

Overall the desk is very sturdy, looks good, as good shelf space underneath, and wasn't too hard to assemble, though does need two people for multiple parts. The biggest problem I am facing is finding other pieces to match it since is a unique color, and the top is actually pretty light in color.

Great desk space and look; hard to match

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This desk was just as described. It was relatively easy to put together which I was not expecting. The color is a little lighter than the picture which is perfect for my sunroom. There is plenty of desk space and shelf space. The drawer is the perfect size for basic filing. My only complaint is the top of the desk has a watery look. It is not a plain color. I wasn't expecting that, but I love everything else.

After desk was finished being put together it turned out to be very sturdy and looks great. Only issue was how hard and confusing it was to put together. Pretty much took all day with 2 people.

Great desk, takes a while to put together.

I wanted to love this desk so much. I had looked and looked and found this desk on multiple sites (Wayfair, Overstock, Amazon), but it was cheapest at Walmart. I bought it because it fit perfectly in my office. Package was VERY heavy and definitely a 2 person lift. The directions are amazing and it took me and another to put it together, fairly easily, in less than 2 hours. The color of the “wood” is pretty and exactly as pictured. The problem began when we noticed that the desktop edge was peeling at the seams. Very cheap quality and paper thin veneer. The 2 desktops do not meet together and there is a very large gap. There is no possible way for this to be flush as one edge is curved and the other is flat. Almost as if the smaller side piece was an afterthought. There is no
way you could write over this space. The other oddity is that the screw caps are orange and stand out to where it makes the desk look cheaper that it should. I am torn because this is going to be such a pain to take back to the store. I mean how does a person even do that when it's already put together and the box was basically destroyed taking the items out? Needless to say I am going to return it as it's not what I hoped that it was. I wish I never bought this!

Wanted to love it!

This desk is so cheaply made with plastic hardware that either cracked in half or didn't work. a lot of pieces were missing or damaged. If I had time to send it back I would! Worst piece of furniture I've ever bought and for almost $300, you'd think it would be better quality. I'm sadly disappointed.
