Caron Simply Soft has been my go-to yarn for crocheting for years. I was devastated when Joann's went out of business and I could no longer purchase Simply Soft yarn there. I was super excited to find that Walmart is now carrying it! And at a great price too! Thank you Walmart! 😊

My Go To Crocheting Yarn

walmart.com

Nice color; different shade of brown, possible main color. I like it. Will blend in with other colors well. I usually make multicolor hats, afghans, etc. with simple patterns and let the colors do the work. I haven't used it yet but it's got possibilities.

Hidden Jewel.

It's a bit splitty at times but is so soft, and works up so gorgeous- if drape and sheen is what you're after, you'll love this yarn. Yes, it's acrylic, yes it's synthetic but for the price and the good qualities it has, it's a very nice yarn. Also machine washable and dryable~ it's one of my favorite acrylic yarns. I recommend it! :)

I love this yarn so I was really glad to see Walmart carried it. I do wish they would really expand their in-store yarn departments as there is very few stores you can buy yarn at anymore since Joann closed. Walmart is neglecting a huge crafting market of knitters and crocheters that like to see the colors and textures first hand when shopping for yarn.

I was making an afghan for my great-grandson for Christmas, and thinking about the colors I would like to use for his year-old sister, when I remembered Simply Soft. It knits up to almost the same gage as worsted weight, 4 ply yarn, but the finished product is so much softer. I am halfway done with Monica's afghan, and it is exquisitely soft, done in shades of pink and lavender.

Softest yarn EVER!

I'm very fond of Caron Simply Soft yarn, %26 use it as often as I can afford it. The colors are lush, the yarn is soft %26 washable %26 easy to use. It gives a glow to the article you're making. It's easy on the fingers. My only gripe is that it can be difficult to rip out if you have to correct a mistake in a previous row.

A bit expensive, but worth it

I love this yarn and have decided to make it my "go-to" yard from now on. It is so soft and easy to work with and i love the sheen.

Unfortunately, I went to my local Walmart to pick up the items I ordered and they were sent to the wrong store. I bought what I wanted while I was there so it wasn't a big deal but its not worth the effort to place order and go to the store to get it. I'll just go and hope they have enough of what I want the next time I am making a large afghan.

Shipped to wrong store

Caron simply soft yarn is always soft. The color of this pink was very nice and exactly what I wanted the price of the yarn, however is going up extremely quickly and is too high for me to continue to purchase as often as I had been.

Caron simply soft yarn in pale pink

Run like the wind to a different yarn! This is literally the worst yarn I've ever used. It was gummy feeling while working it up. Any knots slipped apart, so I started using very long tails. The tails kept popping apart. After spending almost $70 on this and over a hundred hours, I was excited to give my blanket as a gift. The night before my 1.5 hour drive to deliver, I did a gentle wash. To my horror, the yarn desentigrated in 10 places. It is already crocheted and now there is no way to get my money back. I've made a second blanket in another color and I am terrified to wash it before delivering that gift.

Worst yarn ever

It was a substitution for red heart yarn and did not work out at all. I was new to delivery and did not discover the "no substitutions" option until after the fact. The yarn is thin and flimsy. Because I was working on a wedding gift with a deadline I had to use it. More work, more rows to cover the yarn quality. Disappointing.

Too thin compared to red heart yarn
