So far it's doing great even with kneading tuff Pasta dough or German Dumpling dough. Cookie dough is walk in park for this machine. Did also make Baguettes with it. We see if it can handle the workload . I only have it since a week. 
But I'm very Pleased . I also love this cornflower blue.

Love the color options and all the possibilities for use based on the myriad available attachments.  I bought this mixer because of the optional pasta roller attachments which I've now used to make ravioli.  Not sure I'll use it for dough or other thinks I'd mix with my Breville hand mixer, but for pasta it's fantastic.  The 5 piece "deluxe" pasta maker attachments cost $250, so kudos to Kitchenaid's business model.  Reminds me of the CEO of HP saying the company was not in the printer sales business, but in the toner sales business.  Kitchenaid is not in the mixer business, but in the attachments business! One difference though. The Kitchenaid attachments will (hopefully) last as long as the mixer!

Great with the pasta making attachments!

I knew that Kitchen Aid mixers were rated highly, but when my husband surprised me with the Artisan mixer, I could not have imagined how much better my baking turned out with this product. I have made meatballs that were perfectly blended, delicious, hearty breads, and cakes with the lightest, fluffiest texture I have ever tasted. I know it is vastly superior to my previous mixer, and I find myself looking for recipes just to use it as much as possible. My husband chose the Expresso color, which frankly I would not have chosen, but I have come to love. It is a deep, rich color and I get many compliments on it. I am currently waiting for the grinder attachment to arrive, and I look forward to using that as well. I honestly cannot imagine ever using another brand of mixer from this point forward.

I recently ordered the KitchenAid 5-Quart Stand Mixer, and I'm loving it! Right out of the box, it feels solid and well-built, with that classic KitchenAid design that looks beautiful on my countertop.

Good quality and easy to use. The box came broken, but the machine was fine. The first mixer that I bought had an issue with the "on" button. I needed to return.

Excellent mixer

I have heard so many good things about this mixer and also my mom has the classic one which is 20 years and still works great. For some reason I am not getting quality mixers I exchanged mine four times before settling on the one I kept. All of them rattle and shake at head of the mixer. Not matter how much I tighten the screw it's still shakes up and down when mixing dough. The one I kept is a little better but still shakes when I mix dough. Also I have to keep tightening it when I use it. But other than the shaking it does mix well. I would think for the price of these mixers they would be better quality. Certainly not the quality from 20yrs ago.

Decent mixer

The Mixer works great.  Features are very functional and feel confident that the product will last!  However, we were very disappointed with the first use.  I washed the bowl, like I would for any new dishware but, I had to trow away the 1st batch of mix because of a heavy gray residue that was in the  mix!  Reading your website apparently this is a very common problem and the recommended solution is to wash the bowl in a mixture of lemon juice and salt, or baking soda paste.  We had to clean the bowl several times before we were satisfied with the results. According to your WEBsite the residue is not harmful.  I recommend that you feed it to your family. This is a highly regarded product and I would expect that this residue would be removed at the factory by a commercial washing.

Works great!

Purchased new stand mixer and noticed oil leaking from motor area. Contacted KitchenAide who asked me to send them photos and video of the mixer along with proof of purchase which I did. That was over two weeks ago and I have heard nothing even after a follow up email. 
The person on the phone was very nice and professional but the lack of follow up is a huge disappointment. We have been a life  long loyal customer to this brand but our last two purchases (Refrigerator and Stand Mixer) have been littered with problems and the customer service has fallen way off.

Poor customer service when I had an issue

The stand mixer arrived in a completely torn open box. A part of the box with a very large tear was retaped back together. The styrofoam inside the box, meant to securely hold the stand mixer in place, was absolutely destroyed, allowing the mixer to move around during shipment. This was intended to be a gift for a bridal shower, and there is absolutely no way that I could give it in this terrible state. Nor would I feel confident that this hugely expensive gift would be fully functioning for years to come. Very disappointed with the quality and will be returning.
